It's not just a feeling of nostalgia. Just look at the catwalks: black skinnies became a prominent part of Demna's debut collection for Gucci. They also appeared in the Balenciaga pre-fall 2026 collection, and even earlier – in the spring-summer collections of Celine, Dsquared2 and Vetements. It seems surprising, but street stylers also do not neglect this pair: during fashion month, black skinnies appeared in combination with biker boots or high boots.

And yet, this time the mood is different. The very phrase “black skinny jeans” may evoke associations with the style of the zero, while the modern interpretation of the trend is much more restrained. Now, the iconic jeans are slowly becoming part of the aesthetics of Generation X: tucked into shoes, tight scarves, and inspired by the looks of Gisele Bündchen and Kate Moss from 2007. The silhouette of black skinny jeans is also evolving: ultra-tight models are making room in the closet for more relaxed options – the so-called skinny baggy jeans.

While the return of skinny jeans on the eve of summer may seem illogical, fashion has proven time and again that seasonality is more of a guideline than a rule. Especially in a reimagined, looser silhouette—one that allows you to not only wear them, but also feel truly comfortable.
