With the sophomore season’s launch approaching, the performer is set to return to further develop the tale of Coop, a divorced investment fund executive who has become consumed by an altered way of life.
Jon is backed by his fellow actors Olivia Munn, Amanda Peet, Hoon Lee, Lena Hall, Aimee Carrero, Isabel Gravitt, Donovan Colan and James Marsden, who is coming aboard for season 2.
In an exclusive discussion with Hollywood Life before the season 2 premiere, Amanda — who embodies Mel, Coop’s former spouse — hinted at what viewers can anticipate from the former couple following their shared kiss in season 1.
“I think there’s invariably this connection, this chemistry component between them, and my belief is that even amidst their disputes, the core of their arguments centers on parenting,” Amanda expressed, not long after publicly revealing her breast cancer diagnosis in a compelling piece. “Mel finds herself in quite a predicament as her menopausal fury intensifies. Hence, it feels as though this season casts [Mel and Coop] on strikingly parallel trajectories. Their lives seem to be spiraling into remarkably chaotic terrain, which perhaps illuminates the intense connection they share.”
