A recent shakeup has occurred within the Love Island UK Villa, and it’s not related to Casa Amor. Merely days after his introduction to the ITV series, participant George Knight made an abrupt exit, initially without any clarification. However, viewers are now receiving insights from the reality television personality.

During the broadcast on June 7, 2026, Lorenzo informed his fellow Islanders that George “has departed the Villa due to personal matters and will not be returning.” His co-star Robyn, who had shared a kiss with George earlier in the program, expressed, “Aw, George, we adore you!”

Therefore, what prompted George’s departure from Love Island UK? Here is what he shared in a post-Villa interview.

What Transpired with George on Love Island UK?

Shortly following his departure from the show, George took to Instagram to elucidate his sudden exit, stating in his caption that “family is paramount, always.”

“Leaving the @loveisland Villa was a decision motivated by the need to be with my family,” George posted, accompanying his headshot from Love Island UK. “Out of respect for them, I would prefer not to elaborate further. I appreciate everyone who has sent kind messages and words of encouragement! It truly means a great deal.”

The Genuine Reason George Exited the Love Island Villa

In a post-Villa interview conducted by The Sun Showbiz, George recounted the moment he received significant news from the show’s producers. He noted that producers typically only summon an Islander to discuss “routine” arrangements and daily expectations, but this time, they had information for him.

“They simply stated that one of the producers on-site would meet me at the main entrance and that they had some information for me, and that the executives wished to speak with me,” he elaborated during the interview. “I went to meet them, and [they] informed me that my parents had been in contact and had news for me, and that they would be calling me, and it was all quite confidential.”

After the show’s producers granted George a private moment to speak with his family on the phone, he determined that it was “the proper course of action to return home” and withdraw from the competition immediately.

“It pertained to a health concern involving an immediate family member,” George clarified, adding that his parents felt it was their duty to inform him.

All new installments of Love Island UK season 13 are broadcast six nights weekly, with the exception of Tuesdays, on ITV2 and ITVX.
