It’s St. Paddy’s Day! Today, March 17, is dedicated to celebrating Irish heritage, therefore we felt the best way to commemorate this day is by acknowledging some of our top celebrity crushes who originate from Ireland. (Other than donning a lot of green, naturally.) So, let’s dive in, shall we? Renowned Irish figures like Niall Horan and Jamie Dornan are exceptionally attractive, wouldn’t you agree?

Niall Horan

One of our beloved Irish stars is Niall! The former member of One Direction was raised in Mullingar, and has always expressed pride in his ancestry. Regrettably, as a result of gaining stardom, Niall has spent less time in Ireland than he’d prefer – and it’s turned out to be a somewhat altered situation. In a 2016 interview on The Graham Norton Show, he spoke openly about supporters crowding his family’s residence when he is around.

“I return home a few times annually. My father still resides in the same location, so it becomes rather chaotic near the house,” he stated. The alluring “Slow Hands” singer then proceeded to elucidate how inhabitants have begun treating him in a different way when he’s in town. “Sometimes if I’m walking back, right? I return home around Christmas and there are no cabs and I commence walking back. The police will drive by me, pick me up and take me home,” he disclosed, also adding, “I recall when they used to do that for a completely different cause.”

Jamie Dornan

You might not realize it from his famous portrayal as Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey, but Jamie hails from Northern Ireland. However, the actor had the opportunity to showcase his captivating accent while embodying a serial slayer in the drama series The Fall. He charmingly taught his followers Irish slang in a 2018 video created for Vanity Fair. “Craic” translates to “how’s it going” and a great deal more. When it comes to “Kex,” that is underwear. One learns something new each day.

Saoirse Ronan

Four-time Oscar nominee Saorise Ronan is remarkably proud of her Irish background. Saoirse has playfully mocked her distinct accent on Saturday Night Live, and expressed delight in playing an Irish migrant in Brooklyn. Although, the film, which garnered her an Oscar nomination for Best Actress, made her apprehensive.

“I felt really scared,” she expressed to the Los Angeles Times in 2015. “Perhaps because I’ve been [acting] since I reached 10 and everyone back home has remained incredibly supportive and wonderful. And the notion of them witnessing me representing us onscreen was frightening. As a result, I experienced a considerable amount of responsibility.
