Nicole Kidman takes the helm in Prime Video’s recent spine-tingling crime thriller, Scarpetta, which secured the go-ahead for a sophomore season prior to its debut in March of 2026. Kidman embodies the main character, Dr. Kay Scarpetta, alongside another significant name in the business, Jamie Lee Curtis, who embodies Kay’s elder sister, Dorothy. The sisters are constantly at odds during the show, to the point of a serious altercation occurring.
The television program is adapted from the series of novels of the equivalent title penned by Patricia Cornwell. Here is all the current information regarding the second installment of Scarpetta.

Affirmative! Prime Video pre-ordered a pair of seasons of Scarpetta, thus the show was guaranteed a renewal preceding the initial season’s broadcast.

When Will Season 2 of Scarpetta Be Released?
Prime Video has yet to declare a premiere date for the second season. Nevertheless, showrunner Liz Sarnoff mentioned in a March 2026 discussion that the actors and production staff were “delving into a pair of fresh novels for the upcoming season, with production slated to commence the following week [March 9th, 2026].”
“My perspective on the series involves a heightened emphasis on procedural narratives in the flashback segments, where we focus on the intricacies of the case. Conversely, in the current timeline, we venture into alternative paths concerning their emotional journeys, familial relationships, and beyond,” Liz elaborated. “Consequently, Season 2 will directly address the loose ends from the final scene of 1×08, as we transition into the present, revealing the unresolved mysteries. Subsequently, the episode will pivot to a new case, involving a particularly gripping child abduction scenario.”
How Many Episodes Are in Season 1 of Scarpetta?
The debut season of Scarpetta encompasses eight episodes. Each of them became available on Prime Video on March 11, 2026.
