Colleen Hoover has witnessed another one of her creations grace the silver screen. The writer, celebrated for works like It Ends With Us and Regretting You, collaborated with a different ensemble of actors and production team to adapt Reminders of Him into a motion picture. The story centers on Kenna Rowan as she endeavors to regain parental rights to her daughter, Diem, subsequent to serving a prison sentence for an automotive incident involving her deceased beau, Scotty Landry.
As is customary with any transition from book to film, the Reminders of Him cinematic adaptation diverges from Colleen’s initial source material, a point observed by devoted readers.
Here’s all the information you require concerning Reminders of Him.
Reminders of Him Movie Cast: Meet the Actors
Maika Monroe, well-known for her roles in horror films, embodies Kenna Rowan in the production. Kenna is a former inmate who spent seven years incarcerated due to a vehicular accident. Tell Me Lies‘ Tyriq Withers takes on the role of Ledger Ward, a retired NFL athlete and proprietor of a local watering hole, and Outer Banks‘ Rudy Pankow plays Scotty Landry, Kenna’s partner, who passed away in the wreck.
Completing the principal cast are Lauren Graham as Grace Landry, Bradley Whitford as Patrick Landry, Lainey Wilson as Amy, and Jennifer Robertson as Ruth.

What’s Different Between the Reminders of Him Movie vs. the Book?
Devotees of the original novel pinpointed a noteworthy disparity between the cinematic rendition and the source material: the absence of the intimate encounter between Kenna and Ledger. Indeed, the actors and crew did film the scene, but it was ultimately excluded.
“I filmed it. We filmed it,” director Vanessa Caswill conveyed to People following the film’s debut. “And regretfully, it’s not there.” Upon inquiry as to whether the explicit intimacy would have impacted the film’s PG-13 classification, Vanessa conceded, “In some measure. Actually, the studio genuinely appreciated the intimate scene. They remarked, ‘This is a compelling intimate scene!’”
During a separate dialogue with Deadline, Vanessa fielded a question regarding her method of steering the adaptation of Colleen’s novel.
“I believe that, should source material be available, I personally prefer to immerse myself fully in it. For all the projects previously mentioned, I treat the book as a sacred text, offering abundant insights and supplementary elements that I wouldn’t access if presented solely with the script,” the filmmaker expressed. “Therefore, I deeply appreciate the book and remain keenly aware, particularly in this instance, of Colleen Hoover’s extensive fan base and their affection for the book. My goal is to craft a creation that A) Colleen perceives as authentic to her book and B) resonates similarly with her readership. The sole method to pursue this is by endeavoring to capture the core essence of the book’s contents as comprehensively as possible. It’s intricate because each reader derives a personal interpretation, rendering universal success unattainable. Nevertheless, I am confident that the book’s essence, along with Colleen’s underlying themes, are manifested onscreen.”
