Lexi Minetree will portray a younger version of Elle Woods in “Elle,” the forthcoming Prime Video prequel series to the cherished 2001 rom-com “Legally Blonde” — which garnered an early season 2 renewal even before season 1 premiered. As if it’s difficult?
In a 2025 social media post, Elle Woods’ originator, Reese Witherspoon, let Lexi know she landed the role of a lifetime. In the footage, Reese brought Lexi into a room where they both took a seat on a couch for a discussion.
“Your tryout reel was fantastic, as we mentioned, and we had to make a genuinely tough choice the other day,” mentioned Reese, who is a producer for the program. “And we wished to inform you personally, given how hard you’ve been working, and we simply intended to share that you no longer need to audition — because you received the role. You’re Elle Woods.” Lexi then leaned back in shock and shielded her face, overwhelmed by emotion. “Seriously?” she questioned. “Can I embrace you?” Reese admitted that she “hadn’t been able to sleep for three nights.” She included, “I was hoping to let you know earlier.” Lexi and Reese phoned Lexi’s mom to break the exciting news, a moment also captured on film.
Along with the video, Lexi conveyed her happiness in a lively caption. “ME!!!! yessss:),” she joked, alluding to an iconic Elle Woods instant from the movie. “Ok ok ok, my mind is racing right now, I don’t even understand where to START. Possibly with the thank you’s…yes, that’s usually a great spot to start, good thinking Lexi! Thank you to my relatives, companions, and representatives who have confidence in me and my silly lil dreams.”

The incoming Elle Woods journeyed to Southern California as a university student, pursuing dual majors in theatre and public relations, based on her LinkedIn account. She completed her degree in 2024.
