Could generating a Legally Blonde offshoot series be challenging? Devotees of Reese Witherspoon‘s initial film from 2001 can now celebrate because a completely new television program is on the horizon! It’s been over two decades since we last witnessed Reese portraying Elle Woods’ famous pink legal ensemble in Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde. The hit even led to several sequels and a stage production, along with a third movie that was reported to be under development back in 2020.
Before Elle’s initial season even debuted, Prime Video shared that season 2 had gotten underway in January of 2026.

What Will the ‘Legally Blonde’ TV Series Be About?
The prequel series — entitled Elle — “shadows Elle Woods in her high school years as we discover the experiences that molded her into the iconic young lady whom we grew to acknowledge and cherish in the first Legally Blonde movie,” according to the program’s summary.
The original movie from 2001 spotlighted Elle Woods, a California university pupil with a passion for fashion, who secures admission into Harvard Law to win back her boyfriend, Warner. Nonetheless, after recognizing her capability and gift as a lawyer, Elle comes to a realization of what is genuinely important to her.
In the 2003 follow-up, Elle takes her profession to Washington D.C. to prohibit animal testing. During her time in D.C., she clashes with the strict and critical members of Congress and lawyers, who mock Elle on account of her attire and manner.
The spinoff direct-to-video film, Legally Blondes, debuted in 2009 and featured twins Milly and Becky Rosso, who took on the roles of Elle’s younger relatives. Reese was not featured in the film. In 2017, Legally Blonde: The Musical made its debut on Broadway.
A third installment of Legally Blonde was announced back in 2020, anticipated to be penned by Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor. However, the endeavor faced delays, and followers have not been furnished with any developments.

Amazon Prime Video is circulating the show, hence, admirers will be able to stream it on the site upon its release.

Lexi Minetree was revealed to be playing the leading character of Elle Woods. In a clip posted on social media, the original Elle, Reese, shared, “Permit me to present to you the new Elle Woods! After seeing so many impressive auditions for the new Elle prequel series on @PrimeVideo, we have at last discovered our Elle. And now, I was granted the chance to break the news myself! Say hello to @leximinetree.” Also, it was revealed that the part of the mother will be acted out by June Diane Raphael.
Original film cast members included Reese, Luke Wilson and Jennifer Coolidge. The trio acted in both the 2001 and the 2003 productions.
