‘KUWTK’ Ending After 20 Seasons As Kim Kardashian & Family Plan To ‘Say Goodbye’

It is truly the end of an era. Kim Kardashian announced that her family’s reality show ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ will be coming to an end in 2021, after 14 years and 20 seasons.

Fans are going to have to keep up with the Kar-Jenners via social media come 2021, as their long-running E! reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians is coming to and end. Kim Kardashian, 39, made the announcement via her Instagram account on Sept. 8, showing a promo photo from one of the show’s earlier seasons, and a long message to fans about how thankful they are to have watched the family grow and change over 20 seasons.

“It is with heavy hearts that we’ve made the difficult decision as a family to say goodbye to Keeping Up with the Kardashians. After what will be 14 years, 20 seasons, hundreds of episodes and numerous spin-off shows, we are beyond grateful to all of you who’ve watched us for all of these years – through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the tears, and the many relationships and children. We’ll forever cherish the wonderful memories and countless people we’ve met along the way,” Kim began in the caption.

“Thank you to the thousands of individuals and businesses that have been a part of this experience and, most importantly, a very special thank you to Ryan Seacrest for believing in us, E! for being our partner, and our production team at Bunim/Murray, who’ve spent countless hours documenting our lives,” Kim continued, adding that, “Our last season will air early next year in 2021.”

“Without Keeping Up with The Kardashians, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I am so incredibly grateful to everyone who has watched and supported me and my family these past 14 incredible years. This show made us who we are and I will be forever in debt to everyone who played a role in shaping our careers and changing our lives forever,” the SKIMS founder added, then ended her message, “With Love and Gratitude, Kim.”

KUWTK‘s home network, E!, put out the following statement: “E! has been the home and extended family to the Kardashian-Jenners for what will be 14 years, featuring the lives of this empowering family. Along with all of you, we have enjoyed following the intimate moments the family so bravely shared by letting us into their daily lives. While it has been an absolute privilege and we will miss them wholeheartedly, we respect the family’s decision to live their lives without our cameras. It is not our final goodbye yet, we are excited to have the new season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians launching on September 17 with the final season airing in 2021. We thank the entire extended family and our production partners, Bunim Murray and Ryan Seacrest Productions for embarking on this global phenomenon together.”

The network noted how the show premiered on Oct. 14, 2007, and that “there have been 12 spin-off series on E! including, Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami, Kourtney and Kim Take New York, Kourtney and Kim Take Miami, Kourtney and Khloe Take the Hamptons, Khloe and Lamar, Sex with Brody, I Am Cait, DASH Dolls, Life of Kylie, Rob & Chyna, Revenge Body with Khloe Kardashian and Flip It Like Disick.”

So much has happened since 2007. Kendall, 24, and Kylie Jenner, 23, were just pre-teen girls still, and their dad Caitlyn Jenner, 70, then was known as Bruce and married to Kris Jenner, 64.  Now Kylie’s a mom to two-year-old Stormi Webster, as well as a near-billionaire cosmetics mogul, and Kendall is a supermodel.

Kourtney Kardashian, 41, welcomed three children during the course of the show with former partner of nine-years, Scott Disick, 37: sons Mason, 10, and Reign, 5, and daughter Penelope, 8. Their 2015 painful split and how they have grown into loving co-parents has been documented on the show.

Kim infamously had a super lavish 2011 wedding to NBA player Kris Humphries, featured as a KUWTK two part special, only to file for divorce 72 days later. She then went on to have four children — her first two via pregnancies and the second two via surrogate — with husband Kanye West, 43, who she married in 2014.

Khloe married NBA star Lamar Odom in 2009, but filed for divorce in 2013. While the paperwork languished in court, he suffered a near-fatal overdose at a Nevada brothel. Koko valiantly handled all of his medical decisions and helped him make a full recovery before the couple finally divorced in 2016. Khloe then went on to date NBA player Tristan Thompson, with who she has a two–year-old daughter True. Through all of these relationships, splits, babies and more…fans have been there.
