Was Tom Hardy Fired From Mobland?

According to Puck News, a source known for its credible reporting, Hardy was terminated from the production prior to the greenlighting of a third season. Nevertheless, the second season will still feature the actor, who also served as an executive producer on the show.

Deadline has also corroborated Hardy’s departure.

Why Was Tom Hardy Reportedly Fired From Mobland?

Puck News indicates that Hardy’s dismissal stemmed from multiple issues. The report alleged that the series’ lead actor frequently arrived late to set during the filming of season 2 and often provided script revisions, purportedly altering dialogue. Furthermore, Hardy’s alleged conduct nearly prompted producer Jez Butterworth to resign, leading Paramount to ultimately dismiss Hardy.

Additionally, according to Puck, Hardy experienced disagreements with the ensemble cast, which includes veteran actors Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan.

A source connected to the production subsequently informed The Hollywood Reporter that Hardy “refused to leave his trailer for extended periods,” causing the cast, including Mirren and Brosnan, to be kept “waiting.”

“He made the cast wait, which is a power play,” the insider disclosed to the outlet. “Keeping Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, and others waiting is career self-destruction, I would venture to say.”

This contradicts Hardy’s prior statements regarding his now-former co-stars. In an April 2025 interview with Parade, the actor from The Revenant spoke highly of his “wonderful” collaboration with Helen, Pierce, and Paddy Considine.

“I’ve always held Helen in high regard, and I’ve always admired Pierce’s body of work,” Hardy told the publication. “Therefore, the opportunity to witness them excel in roles I believe they are perfectly suited for and to be a part of that experience is truly remarkable. They are exceptional, brilliant performers, possessing immense talent and having achieved much notable work. It is an absolute delight to collaborate with Pierce and Helen.”

Hardy further expressed that he had been “a great admirer of Paddy since I began working here with Stephen Graham,” adding, “He and Michael Shannon were certain character actors who were simply outstanding and incredibly inspiring. And they are around my age. So, I’ve been eager to work with Paddy since we did Child 44.”

Will There Be a Season 3 of Mobland?

Paramount+ has not officially greenlit Mobland for a third season. However, Deadline reported that a writers’ room has been established to develop content for a potential third season.
