How to Watch the 2024 Paralympics: Schedule, Opening Ceremony & More

After the Olympics, sports fans have the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games to watch! From August 28 through September 8, 2024, fans can watch their favorite athletes compete in multiple competitions, including swimming, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby, cycling and more. It will all begin with the Opening Ceremony, which airs on August 28 at 2:00 p.m. ET. The primetime encore of the ceremony is set to air at 9:00 p.m. ET.

Paris 2024 games president, Tony Estanguet, described the opening ceremony in a statement.

“This ceremony at the heart of the city is a strong symbol illustrating our ambition to capitalize on our country hosting its first-ever Paralympic Games to position the issue of inclusion for people with disabilities at the heart of our society,” Tony said.

Fans can stream the Paralympics on Peacock, NBCOlympics.com, the Paralympic YouTube channel and the International Paralympic Committee’s website.

2024 Paris Paralympic Games Schedule

The games will officially begin on August 29, starting with para badminton, archery, goal ball, swimming, table tennis, Taekwondo, Boccia, wheelchair basketball, shooting, wheelchair rugby, cycling track and sitting volleyball.

All games can be streamed or watched live on NBC from 2:30 a.m. through the afternoon.

Hunter Woodhall, one of the most prominent track and field athletes in the games, teased viewers that they’ll be “amazed” with what’s to come. According to the Paralympics website, the athlete told fans that they should “come and expect to see what the human body is capable of.”

“Even more than that though, come and see people achieving their dreams,” he added. “A lot of the moments that went viral in the Olympics were filled with emotion, and you can see that happiness, excitement and dedication that goes into winning. You see those moments come to life and it will be the same for the Paralympics. There will be some awesome athletic moments and also some emotional moments as well.”
