Uma Thurman has established herself in the world of cinema, demonstrating her staying power. The actress is perhaps most recognized for her collaboration with Quentin Tarantino, portraying Mia Wallace in Pulp Fiction and The Bride in Kill Bill: Volume 1 and 2 (2003, 2004). In her personal life, however, her most beloved role is likely being a mother to three children.
Uma famously was linked to actor Ethan Hawke after they encountered one another while shooting the 1997 movie Gattaca and subsequently wed in 1998. They had two kids, Maya and Levon before their split in 2005. Later, Uma welcomed another daughter, Luna, in 2012 with her former partner, financier Arpad Busson.

In recent times, Uma has been spotted in the public eye alongside her offspring at prominent gatherings, such as red carpets and movie premieres. Most recently, she was present at Maya’s Valentine’s Day 2026 wedding celebration in New York City, marking the memorable occasion alongside family and dear ones.

Maya Hawke

Following in her mother’s professional path is Maya Hawke, who was born on July 8, 1998. After commencing her career by modeling for various prestigious brands like Vogue, Calvin Klein, and AllSaints, she then made her on-screen debut in 2017 as Jo in the BBC adaptation of Little Women. Her breakthrough role, nevertheless, came as Robin — an employee at the Scoops Ahoy in the mall — during the third season of Stranger Things, quickly becoming a favorite among viewers. She continued in the role through the show’s fifth and final season, which concluded the successful Netflix series. In that same year, she also had a minor role in Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood — proving she’s truly taking after her mom!
In 2023, Maya became the newest celebrity to be featured in a Wes Anderson film, joining the cast of Asteroid City. She also appeared with her mother and Samuel L. Jackson in The Kill Room, directed by Nicole Paone-. Furthermore, Maya ventured into the world of biopics, playing Jamie Bernstein in 2023’s Maestro, Flannery O’Connor in Wildcat, and a “devoted Beatles enthusiast” hoping to meet George Harrison in Revolver (a film starring her father, Ethan Hawke.)
Alongside her continued acting career, Maya has also explored singing. After launching her first two songs in 2019, she released the albums Blush (2020), Moss (2022) and Chaos Angel (2024), garnering accolades for her indie-folk style and reflective lyrics.
In February 2026, Maya reached a significant personal milestone when she wed musician Christian Lee Hutson during a Valentine’s Day ceremony in New York City, attended by loved ones and close companions.
Levon Thurman-Hawke

Levon Hawke came into the world in 2002. Levon is not only emulating his renowned actor parents but also his sister, having joined the cast of Stranger Things for season 4. Following the appearance of behind-the-scenes photos on social media showcasing him in punk rock attire ahead of the then-upcoming season, rumors circulated as to whether Levon would be featured on the show.
Maya eventually dispelled the rumors. “My brother is not appearing in the show!” she shared with RadioTimes.com. “He paid me a visit. The COVID protocols were quite strict, as they should be, so the only way for him to be on set was for him to be dressed as an extra and undergo COVID testing. That was a day the paparazzi were there, so they obtained a picture of him, and it became: ‘Nepotism strikes again!’ Guys, no! He’s not in the show, though you might potentially see him once, in a single shot. So, relax, internet!”
However, Levon does have a role in several projects that were listed as being in post-production/completed in early 2023. One of them was Pussy Island, directed by Zoe Kravitz. “Frida is a young, astute Los Angeles cocktail server who has her sights on a particular goal: philanthropist and tech magnate Slater King (Channing Tatum). When she skillfully finds her way into King’s inner circle and eventually to an exclusive gathering on his private island, she anticipates a journey of a lifetime. Despite the magnificent setting, attractive individuals, never-ending champagne and late-night dance celebrations, Frida has a feeling that there’s something more to this island than is immediately apparent. Something she can’t quite articulate. Something alarming.”
Levon also holds an interest in fashion. He notably accompanied his mother in 2018 and 2019 in the front row of Prada’s resort shows in New York City and also at the 2020 Dior couture show in Paris, according to Vogue India.
Luna Thurman-Busson

Luna was born in 2012 during Uma’s relationship with Arpad (the pair were together from 2007 to 2009 and then again from 2011 to 2014). Uma prefers to keep her youngest child somewhat away from the public eye, as little is known about her. Regrettably, the most public information regarding Luna came about during Uma and Arpad’s heated custody dispute some years ago.

The judge famously reprimanded the then-arguing couple for their inability to resolve their issues, stating, “Reasonable individuals find a way to resolve such matters,” per Page Six. Uma ultimately secured primary custody in early 2017. On Dec. 11, 2022, the mother and daughter were present at the Some Like It Hot Broadway opening in New York City, NY, and posed on the red carpet.
