During the adored Par 3 Contest at Augusta, Rory offered a sincere glimpse into his daughter’s experience at the competition—and her interests may be somewhat different than his.
“This has unequivocally become Poppy’s most anticipated week of the year,” he shared. “I’m uncertain whether it’s because of the Par 3 tournament or the unlimited ice cream available in the player services area.”

The pair exchanged vows in 2017 and have mostly maintained a low profile concerning their relationship over the years. Despite a brief challenging period in 2024, they reconciled and have stayed united, with Erica consistently supporting Rory at important tournaments, including The Masters.

Rory has one offspring. He and Erica have a daughter called Poppy, who was born back in 2020.
After welcoming his daughter, the golf expert mentioned in an interview with Golfweek that the whole experience has been “wonderful.”
“You have the sense you become acquainted with your baby even while she’s still in her mother’s womb, but the transition from not having encountered this individual to having unwavering affection for them is unmatched,” Rory explained. “It’s possibly the greatest aspect of existing as a human, and I am thankful that I was able to live through it.”

Rory has offered delightful insights into watching her begin to grasp his profession. “I believe it was the first occasion where she seemingly understood what my occupation was, which was quite remarkable [and] also somewhat unsettling,” he mentioned at a press briefing for the 2025 Masters. “It’s incredible that I am able to partake in these moments with her.”
He continued, “The following day after The Players, she went to school, and a couple of children had commented on things to her, and she came home to me that day and asked, ‘Daddy, are you famous?’ And I responded, ‘It is all relative to whom you are speaking.’ So, it’s a mixed bag. One has to moderate expectations at times, but she’s … an amazing addition to life, and it’s wonderful that she’s present this week.”
