He was 54 years old. In the years preceding his demise, Brendon had been dealing with a host of medical ailments, including a congenital cardiac irregularity and cauda equina syndrome.

In more recent times, Nicky discovered his zeal for painting and various art forms. Nicky delighted in sharing his vibrant talent with his family, friends, and admirers. He possessed passion, sensitivity, and an unyielding drive to create. Those who truly were acquainted with him grasped that his artistic expression was among the purest reflections of his essence.”
The declaration continued, “Our family kindly requests discretion during this period as we mourn his passing and commemorate the existence of a man who lived with fervor, creativity, and compassion. We express our gratitude to everyone who has extended affection and encouragement.”

Brendon’s family stated in their announcement that, “it was widely known that Nicholas had encountered difficulties in the past,” the deceased Criminal Minds personality was “undergoing treatment and medication to manage his condition, and he held a positive outlook on the future at the time of his passing.”
In August of 2022, Brendon was admitted to the hospital subsequent to experiencing a cardiac-related episode and was diagnosed with tachycardia: a congenital heart irregularity that results in an abnormally rapid heartbeat.
Brendon also coped with a condition referred to as cauda equina syndrome (CES), which necessitated multiple spinal procedures during his concluding years. As indicated by the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, CES arises when there is a “dysfunction of multiple lumbar and sacral nerve roots” of the cauda equina — a cluster of nerves situated at the termination of the spinal column.
