Jude Law is among Hollywood’s most celebrated thespians, yet he holds an even more significant position outside of his professional life: being a father. The performer once made a rare remark regarding one of his seven offspring while delving into his movie Peter Pan & Wendy, where the British star takes on the role of the antagonist Captain Hook.
“I would often perform as Hook opposite my son, my oldest son [Rafferty], during his childhood,” Law remembered in April 2023, according to ET. “So we’d essentially already experienced it together. And I think it will be a truly remarkable experience for him, watching me embody the character of Hook.”
The Academy Award-nominated icon also revealed how his involvements in pictures such as Captain Marvel and the Fantastic Beasts saga have enabled his children to relish in his career. “The fact that my children are able to view them is unquestionably a bonus,” Law stated.
The devoted father heads several distinct family lines, having children with multiple different women. He has been addressing the obligations of fatherhood since his initial child was born in 1996. His children include Rafferty, Iris, Rudy, Sophia, Ada, and two more children whose names he has not disclosed.

Rafferty, Jude’s most senior child, came into the world on October 6, 1996. Rafferty is the result of Jude’s union with his first spouse, actress and fashion designer Sadie Frost, whom he encountered on the set of the 1994 film Shopping. Rafferty has followed in his father’s path, performing in various short films and filming for a forthcoming remake of Oliver Twist. He is also a DJ and musician within the band Outer Stella Overdrive, and he has modeled in shows for upscale fashion designers Dolce & Gabanna and Dior. The 25-year-old is also slated to feature in The Hat, a short film that he and his father Jude created on an iPhone during the pandemic, which is scheduled for release in November, as reported by Elle.
Rafferty, akin to his father, has an eventful romantic history, having previously been linked to pop artist Rita Ora, although their relationship ended in early 2020. According to Mama Mia, he is now said to be dating Brooklyn Beckham‘s former girlfriend, model Hana Cross.
Iris Law

Iris, who was born on October 25, 2000, is another offspring from Jude and Sadie’s marriage. Iris is a flourishing model in the fashion world, modeling on runways for diverse brands such as Miu Miu and Burberry, as well as featuring in Vogue. The 20-year-old also isn’t hesitant to flaunt her enviable beach physique on her Instagram, sharing numerous bikini snapshots on her social media account over the summer.
Rudy Law

Rudy entered the world on September 10, 2002, and is Jude’s youngest child with his initial wife, Sadie. Compared to his elder siblings, Rudy prefers to maintain a relatively low profile, with limited presence on social media or involvement in modeling like his older brother and sister. Rudy did appear in the 2013 short film Dottie alongside his mother Sadie; however, he has not displayed any subsequent interest in acting.
Sophia Law
Born in September 2009, Sophia is Jude’s sole child with American model Samantha Burke. Jude encountered Samantha in New York City while he was engaged in filming Sherlock Holmes, and the pair never officially became a couple. Although the Talented Mr. Ripley actor was originally unsure about being her true father, according to The Telegraph, he nonetheless provides Sophia with financial assistance. She and her mother reside in Florida, and Jude does not see them frequently; however, acquaintances suggest that the 12-year-old bears a striking likeness to her father.
Ada Law
Ada, who came into the world in March 2015, is Jude’s only child with singer-songwriter Catherine Harding. The couple was together only briefly, with Ada’s arrival occurring following their split. In spite of this, Catherine informed The Mirror at the time that Jude is a “great dad” who manages baby duties effectively. She stated, “Jude is genuinely amusing and sweet. “I recall last week when he visited and had to change her on the park bench. He tidied her up completely.”

Jude affirmed the arrival of his first child with his wife Phillipa Coan on The Tonight Show on Sept. 14, 2020. The Closer star informed host Jimmy Fallon that the circumstances around the birth were “unusual” due to the pandemic; however, in the end, things transpired in a “genuinely wonderful” manner. He conveyed on the program, “We feel incredibly fortunate that during this period, we were able to nest and appreciate each other’s presence.” The couple has yet to unveil their newborn’s name.
In contemplating fatherhood, Jude clarified to the Observer in 2016 his method of striking a balance between being a hands-on father and recognizing when to relinquish control. “As a friend mentioned, ‘Permitting them to stumble and not intervening to assist them…is genuinely challenging. However, they would not develop the skill to recover independently if we did not undergo that process.’ I am beginning to comprehend that our responsibility is to guide them toward genuine maturity for the initial time.
“It then becomes a reciprocal relationship, as the children are inclined to request ‘Help me once more.’ And, naturally, your role is to provide that support, but it is contingent upon their solicitation.”
