As Stranger Things concluded last year, followers and cast members were ready to bid farewell to one of Netflix’s most cherished television series. However, prior to the premiere of the fifth season finale, a rumor surfaced concerning Millie Bobby Brown and her on-screen father, David Harbour. A report alleged that the actress had lodged a formal complaint against David, citing claims of “bullying” and “harassment.”
The Daily Mail brought this report to light in November 2025. A source communicated to the publication that Millie had lodged a complaint against David “before they commenced filming the final season,” further stating that “there were pages and pages of accusations. The investigation extended for months.”
At that juncture, neither Millie nor David directly commented on the report. Instead, they appeared jubilant at the season 5 premiere of Stranger Things. So, what precisely might have transpired between them, or perhaps not? Hollywood Life delves into the details, based on a recent interview featuring David and Millie.

Millie Bobby Brown’s Reported Complaint Against David Harbour
According to the account from the Daily Mail, Millie submitted “pages and pages of accusations” directed at David, alleging mistreatment and harassment. The publication further indicated that the actress had a representative present with her on set during the filming of the concluding season.
What Millie & David Said About the Report
During an interview with Variety in June 2026, David remarked that the report “came out in a weird way” and affirmed that his professional relationship with Millie was in a positive state.
“Frankly, Millie and I are collaborating on several projects… You will see more of Millie and me— ten years was not sufficient,” he conveyed to the publication. “There is a unique connection between us. I cherish her. She cherishes me.”
From David’s perspective, he and Millie managed to resolve any disagreements. He characterized it as a “simple rupture-and-repair situation that, once we cleared everyone out of the way and communicated with each other, we are fine. Everyone these days is very apprehensive about discussing issues. People are very afraid of being human. It’s regrettable, because I don’t know how to navigate this peculiar media landscape. But it was entirely normal, and we hold each other in high regard and always have.”

Were Millie & David Ever at Odds on the Stranger Things Set?
David suggested that he and Millie had a disagreement but underscored that they reconciled.
“In this peculiar world we inhabit where soundbites are generated, I am attempting to articulate this,” the Netflix actor began. “It’s a show that ran for a decade. We worked in tandem for 10 years during her crucial teenage years, portraying a father-daughter relationship. I’m not certain if individuals have families and friends with whom they spend extensive periods over 10 years—you occasionally engage in arguments, disputes.”
While drawing a parallel between the cast and a family dynamic, David noted, “Within families, it’s acceptable because you have a disagreement and then you reconcile. The challenge with a billion-dollar production is that there are hundreds of individuals eager to get involved.”
Regarding Millie, she responded to Variety via email concerning the alleged complaint she had filed against her former co-star.
“Evidently, I underwent significant changes from season 1 to season 5, and David was present throughout the entire process,” the Enola Holmes star stated. “Over time, our rapport evolved into a much more creative collaboration. When you collaborate with someone for that duration, we were able to challenge each other emotionally during scenes. Even though the series has concluded, there remains a great deal of appreciation. The opportunity to share that experience with him for so many years is something I will always remember and value.”
