In February 2026, Chappell Roan declared her departure from the Wasserman Group, the agency that had represented her, following the surfacing of founder Casey Wasserman’s name in the Jeffrey Epstein documents. It was revealed that Wasserman had corresponded via email with Ghislaine Maxwell, a former colleague of Epstein, some time ago. Maxwell is presently serving a two-decade sentence in prison, having been convicted on charges including conspiracy for sex trafficking.
The “Pink Pony Club” singer revealed through her Instagram Stories that she had split with the agency.
“Effective today, my representation by Wasserman, the talent company headed by Casey Wasserman, is concluded,” Chappell penned. “I expect very high standards from my teams and feel obliged to equally safeguard them. No artist, representative, or staff member should be in a position to have to excuse or turn a blind eye to behavior that goes against our deepest held beliefs. I deeply appreciate the tireless efforts of the agents and staff on behalf of their artists, and I refuse to simply stand by and do nothing.”
In a statement given to The New York Times on January 31, 2026, Wasserman addressed the criticism he received regarding his past communications with Maxwell. He stated firmly that he “never engaged in a business or personal relationship” with Epstein, but that he regretted the exchanges he had with Maxwell.
“I sincerely regret my correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell, which occurred more than two decades prior to the revelation of her shocking crimes,” Wasserman communicated to the news source. “I have never had a business or personal connection with Jeffrey Epstein. As has been widely reported, I participated in a humanitarian visit in 2002 as part of a delegation with the Clinton Foundation aboard Epstein’s plane. I am extremely regretful for any association whatsoever with either individual.”

Casey Wasserman Is the Founder of His Own Agency
The Wasserman Group functions as both a talent agency and a sports marketing firm, representing both sports figures and entertainers.
Casey Wasserman Is the Chair of the 2026 L.A. Olympics
Serving as the chairman for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, also called LA28, is another of Wasserman’s duties, besides his responsibilities in running his talent agency. After his name showed up in the Epstein files, certain individuals suggested that Wasserman should resign from his role with the Olympics.
Janice Hahn, a supervisor in L.A. County, commented to Rolling Stone in a statement that Wasserman “needs to resign.”
Hahn continued, “His continued presence representing us on a global scale distracts from our athletes and the immense labor involved in getting ready for 2028.”
Casey Wasserman & Ghislaine Maxwell Spoke Via Email Years Ago
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Epstein documents, which the Department of Justice released in accordance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act, demonstrated that Wasserman and Maxwell shared suggestive emails over two decades in the past. In an email from April 2003, Wasserman allegedly inquired, “I’m always thinking about you. So, what do I have to do to see you dressed in tight leather?” Maxwell is said to have replied by offering Wasserman a massage capable of “driving a man wild.”
Upon discovery of the emails in early 2026, Wasserman expressed his remorse.
