Britney welcomed her firstborn, a son named Sean Preston, on September 14, 2005, a year subsequent to the pop sensation’s marriage to Kevin. When Sean reached 5 months of age, Britney was caught on camera driving with her son positioned on her lap instead of securely in a car seat, prompting considerable criticism towards Brit from the wider community.
Sean, along with younger sibling Jayden, were both under the age of 2 when Britney underwent her public breakdown in January 2007. Nine months afterward, Britney relinquished custody of her boys to Kevin, who had separated from the songstress in Nov. 2006. A guardianship arrangement for the artist was instituted in 2008, which afforded Britney and Kevin a 50/50 split in parenting responsibilities for their sons. Nevertheless, that agreement was adjusted in 2019 to a 70/30 split, resulting in Sean and Jayden spending the majority of their time residing with their dad.

I don’t think that…I don’t know, dude,” said Jayden. “I don’t even know. I remember one time I asked her, I said, ‘Mom, what happened to your music?’ and she was like, ‘I don’t know, honey. I think I might just quit it.’ I’m like, ‘What? What are you saying? Like, do you know how much bank you make off of that stuff?’ ”
