This Mariah-Ariana comparison is nothing new. Back when Grande was starting out, fans noticed similarities. But Grande has named other famous singers as her influences. Per Billboard, Grande named Imogen Heap, Whitney Houston, and Judy Garland among her inspirations.
“Whitney holds such a special place in my heart,” she said of Houston. “She inspired me to start singing as a little girl. I’d watch “The Bodyguard” and tell my mom I wanted to do that one day. Her riffs are so precise and I love her tone. She’s my inspiration.”
