How Stephen and Alison Connected

Allison, a skilled contemporary dancer, participated on So You Think You Can Dance in 2006 and secured a spot in the top eight, and as previously mentioned, Stephen was a semi-finalist on the well-received Fox program two years afterward. That same year, Allison had her initial and only child with her then-fiancé, a daughter named Weslie. In 2010, both Stephen and the then-mother were invited onto the show as all-stars to perform with the season’s finest participants. Allison was quickly drawn to Stephen.

“I didn’t just attempt one move — I tried, like, 10 moves and he wasn’t noticing them, so I had to express myself even further,” she expressed to Dance Spirit in 2012. “From the very beginning week of SYTYCD as All-Stars, I considered him to be the most attractive person ever. His character was extremely amusing.”

According to Stephen, however, he and Allison initially crossed paths a few years earlier at a gathering organized by Season 2 contestant Ivan Koumaev. “We encountered each other there for the first time, but Allison doesn’t recall,” he stated to Dance Spirit. “We reconnected during Season 7, but didn’t exchange any words throughout the entire season. That’s why I was unaware, because she wouldn’t speak to me, and I presumed she wasn’t keen.” Stephen then disclosed that Allison caught him glancing at her “in the hallway once.”

During the summer months of 2010, the two accomplished performers were present at the launch of Step Up 3D, as Stephen played a part in the movie and the So You Think You Can Dance members came to encourage him. Although the pair acknowledged that they didn’t communicate at the function, Allison determined that she couldn’t restrain her interest in Stephen any longer. “So, I obtained his contact number and sent a message expressing my pride in him and mentioning that he appeared handsome that evening,” she confessed.

The couple reunited at the So You Think You Can Dance closing celebration later that year, and the circumstances couldn’t have aligned more favorably. “We participated in a dance at the wrap party of that season of So You Think You Can Dance, and we have remained together from that point onward,” Stephen revealed to PEOPLE in 2018. Allison added, “There was no discussion, there was no conversation or a first date. In reality, we danced and we were together holding hands the very subsequent day. And we never regretted it.”

I ADORE YOU SO MUCH!”
