In the VOGUE UA To Do List project, we plan the necessary diagnostics, procedures, and strategies that will improve your health, well-being, and give you a sense of control over processes that can and should be controlled. Item #10 – grow your dream hair.
Why is it sometimes so difficult to grow hair?
When people talk about dream hair and trying to grow it back, they usually mean hair loss or slow growth. In fact, most often the problem is not so much hair loss, but brittleness – this is often the reason why hair does not grow to the desired length. Curly, curly, dyed (and especially bleached), porous hair is especially prone to breaking off at the ends. This is almost imperceptible in everyday life (unless you dry your blonde hair with your head tilted over a dark tile – then the broken ends will be noticeable). But in the end, you can't let your hair grow even to your shoulder blades for years, because it loses length due to brittleness.

We are used to thinking that the key to dream hair is nutrients and proper care. For the most part, this is true. But the truth is that to grow long and healthy hair, internal support alone is not enough – a balance of vitamins, care for the scalp and general health. No less important is systematic and proper care of the length – because it is the part that is most exposed to daily mechanical stress.
How Mon Mou silk accessories improve hair condition
Hair length care should be comprehensive and systematic: it is the combination of the right rituals, products, and daily habits that ensures long-term results. And here, Mon Mou products, recommended by the All-Ukrainian Association of Trichologists, can come in handy.
“The culture of careful hair care in Ukraine was introduced by Mon Mou: for example, we launched and patented the double-sided turban towel. Our products embody softness and delicacy in daily care rituals,” says Mon Mou co-founder Zhanna Matchina.

My Mou
The main idea of the Mon Mou brand is to create care products that help significantly reduce the damage that hair undergoes every day: during sleep, after washing, when combing hair, etc. The brand's philosophy is embedded in the name itself: Mon Mou in French means “my soft”, which reflects the key value – gentle contact with hair.
What is the Mon Mou double drying method?
Mon Mou's approach is based on caring for hair length as a key element in maintaining its quality. It was Mon Mou that developed and introduced the innovative concept of drying hair using a two-sided method to minimize damage to wet hair. After all, twisting or rubbing hair with a long-pile towel means causing micro-damage, which can later lead to split ends and breakage.

So, in the first stage, the hair is dried without friction using the terry side of the turban, which is made of natural cotton and efficiently absorbs excess moisture.
In the second stage, the terry side is replaced with a silk side, which is made of natural 100% silk, which allows drying to continue as gently as possible, reducing the risk of damage to the cuticle.

The two-sided drying method is an important preparatory step for further hair length care: to effectively protect the length, it is advisable to apply care products after washing to slightly dried, not completely wet, hair.

Why silk pillowcases are not a fad, but an important step in care
The continuation of the Mon Mou soft drying concept was silk accessories – pillowcases and elastic bands that minimize friction in everyday care.

The Mon Mou pillowcase provides continuous delicate hair care throughout the night, because on average a person spends 8-9 hours in sleep, during which the hair is constantly in contact with the surface of the pillow. Friction against ordinary fabrics during sleep leads to microdamage, while the surface made of natural silk in the area of contact with the hair minimizes this effect. “I felt this difference on the train,” says Vogue UA beauty editor Alena Ponomarenko. “If at home with a silk pillowcase my lightened fluffy hair looked decent in the morning, then after a night on the train it turned into a tousled nest.” This is not an exaggeration. The All-Ukrainian Association of Trichologists explains that friction against a cotton pillowcase can indeed lead to microdamage, tangles and excessive fluffiness.

The Mon Mou pillowcase is specially designed so that the side that comes into contact with the hair is made of natural silk, and the reverse side is made of satin, which prevents the pillow from slipping and provides a high level of sleep comfort. The satin side makes the pillowcase more durable and practical, unlike those made simply of thin translucent silk.
Rubber bands are an unobvious way to improve hair quality
“Using Mon Mou elastic bands prevents trichodynia (pain in the hair roots), brittleness, and hair splitting,” says Denys Prokopovych, President of the All-Ukrainian Association of Trichologists.

Many people are familiar with the feeling when hair pulled tightly into a ponytail or bun after loosening causes pain and discomfort at the very roots. Mon Mou hair ties solve this problem. Made from natural 100% silk of the highest quality, they do not cause kinks and mechanical damage. And in addition, they prevent breakage.

Mon Mou silk hair ties are extremely light, do not weigh down the hair and have a soft hold. “Thanks to the smooth texture of natural silk, the hair tie does not get tangled in the hair and does not pull it out when removed,” say professional trichologists.
In addition, we make them in different sizes so that you can adjust them exactly to your volume and not damage your strands.
Why is silk so pleasant to use?
Silk is pleasant primarily tactilely – it is one of the few fabrics that feels almost like a light stroke on the skin and hair. Its smooth, even surface does not create unnecessary friction. That is why contact with silk is perceived as soft, soothing and natural.

Historically, silk has been known as a material associated with care, luxury, and attention to the body. It was valued not only for its beauty, but also for its properties: the ability to retain heat, let air through, adapt to temperature, and not irritate the skin. This experience today has a modern explanation – through the physics of friction, the structure of the fibers, and the biocompatibility of the material.
In daily hair care, silk works as a comfortable mediator: it reduces mechanical stress, helps maintain natural moisture, shine and cuticle integrity. Interaction with it requires no effort – care is gentle but systematic.
That's why Mon Mou products are so easy to integrate into your own care rituals. They don't force you to change your habits, but instead gradually create a different feeling of contact with your hair. And they add softness, care, and joy to our complex everyday life. Over time, this not only helps your hair grow back, but also changes your idea of what daily care can be.
