At MakeUp in Paris, the beauty packaging specialist — known for its sponges, brushes, and applicators — introduced an innovative galenic format based on solid and soluble nanofibre technology.
At MakeUp in Paris (18 and 19 June 2025), Taiki highlighted galenics designed using a patented ball electrospinning process, the Bōshi nanofiber technology. The introduction of this technology to the skincare market is the result of a joint venture between Taiki Group and South African company Stellenbosch Nanofiber Company.
Nanofibres enable the creation of ultra-thin, dry cosmetic layers that dissolve instantly upon contact with water or lotion, providing a unique sensory experience. Thanks to its waterless structure, the Bōshi nanofiber technology also enables the formulation of ingredients that are unstable in aqueous solutions or incompatible with each other.
Taiki presented a examples of applications—in the form of pre-cut patches or 3D doses—that use this technology to deliver pre-dosed skin care ingredients:
– The pre-cut Boshi Dissolving Patches are designed to target specific areas, such as blemishes or the eye contour. They become invisible upon application and deliver active ingredients instantly where needed. The Anti-Blemish formula contains more than 90% natural ingredients including salicylic acid, niacinamide, allantoin and azelaic acid.
– For their part, the Bōshi NanoDrops (innovative 3D dissolving doses) allow for seamless application across the entire face in one simple gesture. The 100% natural origin Brightening formula combines antioxidant actives including vitamin C (27%), ferulic acid, sodium hyaluronate and vitamin E.
– The same concept applies to Boshi Dissolving Skincare, with a different combination of actives.
All the three formulations are available exclusively through Taiki’s private label manufacturing services. Standard versions are available immediately and can be customised at the customer’s request.
“Waterless formats remove the need for preservatives and other excipients. Furthermore, the Bōshi dissolving technology ensures a higher active concentration, longer shelf life, and better skin absorption — while reducing transportation footprint,” claims the company.
The technology cuts out the need for emulsifiers, fillers, rheology modifiers and other additives, including preservatives.
Another standout innovation unveiled by Taiki at the MakeUp in Paris trade show is the Couture Brush. A patent-pending technology enables ultra-precise decoration directly on the brush tuft—allowing for the integration of intricate designs, logos, or text. This marks a new level of personalization and branding potential in makeup accessories.
