The international natural an organic cosmetics Association has elected its new new President and Vice President at its recent Membership Assembly held in Frankfurt in May.
Prof Dr Florian Stintzing, Head of Science and Member of the Board at Wala Heilmittel GmbH, the company owning Dr Hauschka, has been elected as the President, succeeding Dr Bernhard Irrgang, Head of R&D Natural and Organic Cosmetics at Weleda AG, who is stepping down following his retirement.
A food technology graduate from the University of Hohenheim, Prof Dr Stintzing has taught as an adjunct professor at his alma mater since 2010. He joined Wala in 2007, where he became Head of Science in 2012 and was appointed to the Wala Board in 2014.
“His scientific expertise, industry leadership, and long-standing dedication to natural product standards make him ideally positioned to lead Natrue into its next phase of impact and innovation. Prof Dr Stintzing previously served as Natrue’s Vice President and brings a wealth of experience in scientific research, product development, and association governance,” said Natrue in a statement.
In parallel, Jayn Sterland is taking on the role of Natrue Vice President.
Jayn joined Weleda UK in 2008, later becoming Managing Director in 2016. “A passionate advocate for sustainability and corporate responsibility, Jayn is a widely recognised leader in the natural cosmetics industry and was appointed ESG Pillar President for the British Beauty Council in 2023. Her extensive executive experience and public engagement will be instrumental in supporting Natrue’s strategic vision alongside the President and Board,” said the association.
Natrue was founded in 2007 with the main objective of establishing strict requirements for natural and organic cosmetic products. Over 10,000 cosmetic products and raw materials all over the world carry the Natrue label.
