Spanish fragrance house Eurofragance announced on Friday, February 14, the appointment of Joan Pere Jiménez as chief executive officer, effective January 1, 2026. Laurent Mercier, who has held the position since 2018, will continue to lead the company until December 31, 2025 and will assume a new role on the Board of Directors starting in 2026.
Joan Pere Jiménez has been with Eurofragance for over ten years. He joined the company as Chief Operations Officer and has held various positions of responsibility within the Management Committee, including General Manager for the Europe, Africa and Turkey region through 2021, and later on for the Asia Pacific region until the end of 2023. Since January 2024, he has held the position of Chief Market Officer, a role he will retain until the end of 2025.
According to Eurofragance, this succession process, planned since 2023, will ensure “a smooth transfer of responsibilities” and the “continuity of the company’s strategic vision.”
“We are particularly pleased that the transition is being made with a person from within the company, who knows Eurofragance perfectly well and whose contribution has been decisive for delivering the results and achievements that were attained during Laurent’s tenure,” stated Santiago Sabatés, Charmain and Founder of Eurofragance.
Under Mercier’s leadership from 2018, Eurofragance has consolidated its position as a global company and a benchmark in the fragrance industry, continuously achieving annual growth of over 20% since 2021, and delivering double-digit profitability.
During these years, Mercier drove sustainability and fostered investments in innovation, which led to the development of the company’s first proprietary ingredients for the creation of exclusive fragrances.
Earlier this year, the fragrance house announced the appointment of its first Master Perfumers: Belén Garcia, Isabel Gil Trujillo and Olaf Larsen.
