In December 2025, in New York, the French fashion house CHANEL presented its annual Métiers d'Art 2026 collection, which combined high fashion, crafts, and beauty and opened a new page in the brand's history under the leadership of Creative Director Mathieu Blasi.
The show took place in the preserved Bowery subway station in midtown Manhattan, a place that symbolizes the dynamism, diversity and rhythm of the big city. The location became not just a backdrop, but a source of inspiration, where the style of everyday life and the craftsmanship of the Parisian fashion house merged.

CHANEL Métiers d'Art collections are traditionally accompanied not only by fashion looks, but also by unique beauty concepts that underline the overall narrative of the show. The makeup was done by Lucia Pieroni, a British-Italian makeup artist with a unique artistic style, who works actively in the international fashion community and is one of the main beauty artists of our time. Lucia is known for her ability to combine the subtle play of light, shadow and color; she creates makeup looks that are natural and at the same time expressive, and often experiments with textures and shapes to give the looks a unique character.

In New York, sharp cat-eye lines and the contrast between natural nude lips or the classic red shade of Rouge Allure were dominant, creating a sense of elegant confidence and modern chic. In many cases, beauty looks are constructed in such a way as not to distract from the intricate textiles, artisanal details and stylistic allusions of the collection, but to remain expressive and complete. This becomes part of the overall concept of the show, where beauty is an equal partner of clothes and accessories.

Makeup: bare skin, deep accents
Lucia Pieroni's main emphasis was on the harmonious combination of natural beauty and graphic details that complemented the fashionable looks on the catwalk.
1. Radiant “live” skin as the basis of the image
For Métiers d'Art, CHANEL always focuses on perfectly prepared, naturally radiant skin that looks healthy and well-groomed, rather than overly toned. Light textures like LES BEIGES WATER-FRESH COMPLEXION TOUCH, cream bronzers and transparent highlighters are used to create a light-from-within effect. This approach allows the skin to “live” on the catwalk and not compete with the intricate fabrics, embroideries and textures of the clothes.

2. Graphic view – a modern interpretation of the classics
The eyes in Métiers d'Art beauty looks often become the only clear accent. It can be laconic black or dark arrows, made with CHANEL waterproof pencils and liners, or softly shaded shadows in deep brown, graphite or bronze shades. Such makeup refers to the heritage of the House (from Parisian chic to cinematic aesthetics), but presented in a modern urban key.

3. Lips and nails as the final touch of character
In Métiers d'Art, the lips are usually either as natural as possible: with a light balm or a translucent shade, or on the contrary – classic red, as a symbol of strength, femininity and the DNA of CHANEL. The same applies to the manicure: from discreet nude tones to rich red varnishes that add confidence to the image. These details do not overload the image, but complete it, emphasizing the character of the heroine of the collection.

More than a show, CHANEL Métiers d'Art 2026 is a symphony of city, craft and contemporary beauty, combining classic elegance and street aesthetics, creating a new perspective on how fashion and makeup can coexist in the same rhythm of New York life.
