How to Get Perfect Eyebrows in 2026

Remember the graphic “square” brows of the 2010s? Supermodel Cara Delevingne's thick, dark brows on catwalks and billboards sent teens flocking to beauty aisles in search of concealer to give their own brows a sharper, straighter shape.

Since then, we've seen the return of the Y2K-style bleached brow, the boom in ultra-fixing soap brows, and the comeback of the super-thin “cabaret” brow. Recently, another trend has emerged on the spring-summer 2026 runways: straight brows, seen at Giambattista Valli, Christopher Esber, and Blumarine.

“Eyebrows are one of the most important elements of everyday makeup,” says celebrity eyebrow expert Anu Khapung, whose clients include Margot Robbie and Emma Corrin. “The way we shape and style our eyebrows says a lot about how we present ourselves and how we feel.”

Celebrity makeup artist Bernicia Boateng, who works with Michaela Coel and Janet Jackson, agrees: “Eyebrows are everything. They add instant structure. Symmetrical and well-groomed brows can transform a tired look into a put-together and fresh look.” After skincare, they're the only must-do step in her minimalist beauty routine. “Their shape and definition can completely transform your face.”

How to achieve perfect eyebrows in 2026

According to Boateng, this year's trends will be soft. “I love soft glam, so a soft brow is a natural addition for me,” she says.

“I first brush my brows up and out to see their natural shape, then lightly stroke them to fill in any gaps.” She never completely lines her brows. “Then I blend them in with a spoolie brush to smooth out any harshness, set them with a flexible gel, and lightly define the shape with concealer.”

Home care

“To maintain your brow shape at home, only pluck hairs from the bottom — along the arch, never from the top,” explains Khapung. Minimal adjustments will give the most effect. If you're concerned about the shape, it's a good idea to visit a professional every six to eight weeks. “A skilled artist will always maintain your natural structure and delicately enhance it,” she adds. For everyday styling, a brow gel is usually enough. “I like lipsticks and products from Victoria Beckham Beauty, Refy, Ilia, Morphe, and Merit. But honestly, use what works best for you.” The main goal is to have an effortless expression.

Mistakes to avoid

“Too much product, especially at the beginning of the brow, instantly weighs down the face and gives a sloppy look,” warns Boateng. Another mistake is the wrong shade: eyebrows that are too dark add age, and too warm shades look unnatural or dull. You can ignore the natural shape for the sake of experimenting, but not for an everyday look. And, of course, it is important not to get carried away with tweezers. “Eyebrows should emphasize your features, not copy someone else's. In this case, less is more.”

How to find your perfect eyebrow products

“Skin tone, hair color, personality, overall style, and even bone structure all matter,” explains Khapung. “Every face is unique, and what works for one person may not necessarily work for another.”

“Think not only about the type of product, but also about the finish you want,” adds Boateng. Pencils are great for precision and filling in gaps, while shadows give a softer, more subtle effect. “I always recommend having at least two brow products so you can adapt your look depending on your mood and occasion.”
