Hourglass Cosmetics opens global flagship store in New York City

After testing waters with a New York pop-up last year, Hourglass is getting back into the brick-and-mortar game with the opening of its global flagship store in New York City, in the Soho neighborhood of New York City.

Located at 14 Prince Street in SoHo, the 1,500 square-foot store invites clients into an apartment-inspired space where innovation, design, and artistry converge to immerge them into the world of the Unilever-owned beauty brand.

The store’s design was led by Carisa Janes, the brand’s founder and president, in collaboration with TMR Design and Ryan Crozier of Crozier Studios. The warm-toned interior reflects the brand’s signature aesthetic.

A sculptural marble beauty bar, crafted from natural stones and bespoke metals, serves as the boutique’s centerpiece, displaying the Hourglass collection. Meanwhile, a minimalist wall features rotating artwork, product installations, and creative campaigns.

Artist stations along the window allow for better color-matching with natural light. The store also has color-correcting overhead fixtures and mirror lighting to provide an optimal environment for makeup applications.

Hourglass will host an “Artist in Residence” series at the store, with in-store masterclasses, appointments, panel discussions, art installations, trunk shows, and exclusive product drops. The series will begin in April with celebrity make-up artist Emily Cheng.
