Inspired by Korean anti-aging practices, they have become a simple and non-invasive way to visually lift facial features. That's why it-girls have already chosen them as the main eyebrow trend of 2026.
Flat eyebrows: a beauty hack for a tight and sculpted face without a scalpel or injections
Nothing defines a face like the shape of your eyebrows. A pronounced arch can visually lengthen the silhouette of your face, and “feathery” eyebrows always open up your eyes. But what if you want a lifting effect without resorting to surgery or injections? This is where the trend that is currently conquering all it-girls comes into play: flat eyebrows.

They're already worn by Ariana Grande, Phoebe Dynevor (Daphne from Bridgerton) and Manon Bannerman from Katseye. For Odessa A'zion, star of the film Marty Supreme, who is known for doing her own makeup and hair, flat eyebrows have become a real style signature. Below, experts explain everything you need to know about the trend that promises to be a major one in 2026.

What are flat eyebrows?
Flat or “straight,” brows are shaped in a horizontal line instead of the traditional arch. While their roots lie in K-beauty practices that aim to soften facial features, they are now being chosen primarily for their lifting effect. “Current beauty trends are gravitating toward a 'sculpted', lifted look, inspired by popular Korean anti-aging treatments (Botox and laser lifts). Flat brows are an easy and non-invasive way to achieve this result,” explains celebrity makeup artist Andrew Park.

Kristy Streicher, celebrity brow artist and founder of KS&CO, compares the effect of flat brows to cat-eye liner: “Straight brows have an international, cool charm.” Her colleague Jimena Garcia, also a Chanel ambassador, adds that flat brows lend a “sensual, emotional quality” and create a “calm yet magnetic look.”
Who suits flat eyebrows?
Flat brows can look good on everyone, though some face shapes benefit more from them. Garcia says a straight line can make a long face look shorter, so it's important to consider your natural brow architecture. “They look good on everyone, but you have to be precise and delicate,” she says. Streicher notes that you can try a straighter line without completely abandoning your natural arch. “It's about softening the curve, not completely reshaping it. When done neatly, flat brows look sexy and modern without changing your natural look,” she explains.

How to create flat eyebrows?
For those who want to try this trend, Streicher advises against plucking hairs to create a new line. Instead, use a facial razor or dermaplaning tool to gently trim hairs in strategic areas. “Trimming doesn't affect hair growth like tweezing does, and it leaves more room for future growth,” she explains. Lightly trim the top of the arch and the area below the brow bone to keep it from drooping, and use an ultra-fine-tipped eyebrow pencil, extending the line outwards rather than upwards. This will maintain the lift effect.

Park suggests drawing a pencil line first as a guide. Highlight the area (from the arch to the tail) that you want to make more horizontal, and don't worry too much about following the shape of your eyes exactly. “You should actually draw it a little higher than you think it is. If you follow the shape of your eye too literally, the brow will often 'slide' down,” he says. Garcia also uses a brow gel to help direct and lock the hairs in place, creating a balanced, architectural structure.

Why are flat eyebrows a trend for 2026?
As for the future of this trend, experts agree: it’s here to stay. 2026 promises to be the year when everyone starts to straighten their brows. “People are once again looking for a clean, defined and slightly sexy look, and flat brows provide just that. There’s a clear influence from the 90s vixen look, and this brow shape gives the look the same determination and confidence with a similar lifting effect,” concludes Streicher.
