In 2026, we are moving away from the “soap” aesthetic a bit, but we continue to move along the path of simplicity. Logically, more and more ideas are rethinking the concept of “natural manicure”. And, it seems, now the focus is on the blur effect. If “blurred lips”, popularized by makeup artist Nina Park, became a real revolution in makeup, now this approach is also transferred to manicure. The task is as clear as possible: to create a discreet, delicate look without the usual gloss, but with a soft, diffused texture on the nails.

What is the appeal of “blurred” nails?
The main advantage of this manicure is its ability to visually smooth out imperfections. The velvety coating works as a light corrective filter, without the need for rich shades or complex design. The popularity of this trend was largely contributed to by manicurist Mateja Novakovic, who has gathered almost 300 thousand followers on Instagram and has made simplicity and well-groomedness her signature style.

How to make “blurred” nails
As with all natural techniques, proper preparation is key: gently buffing the nail surface and creating an even base. Novakovic uses Manucurist's Active Blur, a hybrid polish and top coat with a velvety effect. The formula, enriched with chestnut extract, niacinamide and fruit acids, additionally strengthens the nails. And to extend the durability of the manicure, it is worth applying a matte top coat.
