In the new part, the spotlight is once again on our favorite heroes, namely Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie. This time, as it turned out, they will have to face a rather unusual antagonist. It will not be some plastic villain, but a real tablet called LilyPad, informs Ukr.Media.
Because of this modern gadget, their new owner plays with her toys less and less. Now the heroes need to figure out how to get the girl's attention back to regular, lively play.
The conflict is surprisingly contemporary. This story tells about how screens are inexorably crowding out children's imagination and communication. Of course, the humor that is familiar to this series harmoniously combines with the topic that is so close to parents and their children today.
The fifth installment was directed and written by Andrew Stanton, who, by the way, is one of the authors of the previous installments and the creator of many famous Pixar hits.
Tom Hanks returns as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, and Joan Cusack as Jessie, returning to their legendary roles. Their voices, as we know, have been the unifying force behind the franchise since the 1990s.
The franchise itself is a real milestone for the world of animation. The first part in 1995 became the first full-length film with computer graphics. The third and fourth parts collected more than a billion dollars at the global box office each and even received an Oscar for best animated film.
When were the Toy Story cartoons released?
This animated series from Pixar is known to be one of the most successful and highest-rated in film history. All four main parts have gained cult status and have consistently brought huge profits to their creators.
The first Toy Story was released in 1995 and grossed between $373 million and $401 million. Critics were delighted, giving the film a rare one hundred percent.
The second part appeared on screens in 1999, earning about $497 million and maintaining the quality bar with the same 100% rating.
The third Toy Story was a financial breakthrough in 2010. It grossed over a billion dollars and received a 98 percent critical acclaim.
The fourth and final installment was released in 2019, bringing the creators over a billion dollars with a rating of 97 percent.
It is worth mentioning separately the film Buzz Lightyear, which was released in 2022. This project, however, showed somewhat more modest results and collected about $226 million.
