They wrote briefly: they say, 20 years ago it all started with a duet, then it grew into something more, but sooner or later everything comes to an end. And then this well-known phrase: “No matter how you say it, we are not a couple.” I literally hear this motif in my head when I read. And the classic “there will be no comments, we ask for understanding and respect.” That is, we have thrown this topic at you for discussion, and you continue to rack your brains, analyze and look for hidden meanings.
The history of Potap and Nastya's relationship
If we rewind time, the duet “Potap and Nastya” appeared back in 2006. At that time, I was… well, I was still walking under the table. And they were already tearing up the charts and becoming the loudest project in Ukrainian showbiz. As long as I can remember, they were constantly attributed to a romance, but they were so skillfully evading answers that it turned into some kind of separate art form. It was a kind of ongoing intrigue in real time.
The biggest revelation came in 2013 when they were spotted together on vacation in Cuba. But the official recognition as a couple took place only in 2019. Then, on May 23, they had a grand wedding in Kyiv. It would seem that it was a happy ending, fans can rejoice.
But for the past few years, conspiracy theories have been popping up on social media feeds: are they together, why are there so few photos together, what's going on with their marriage? “Network investigators” have been dissecting their posts, looking for signs of a crisis. And, as it turns out, they were right. Now we have an official statement. Minus one star couple, plus a lot of content for discussion online.
