HBO Max has released the first teaser trailer for the Harry Potter series. Christmas 2026 is officially booked, cancel all plans for that winter (if we live to see it, of course), informs Ukr.Media.
Meet the new “golden trio” we'll be dissecting on TikTok for the next ten years: 11-year-old Dominic McLaughlin in bicycle goggles, Arabella Stanton (Hermione), and Alastair Stout (Ron).
But let's move on to the adults, because the cast here is just great.
Nick Frost as Hagrid? Real movie. Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape? This is something incredible, get ready for a new wave of “dark academy” aesthetics. Plus John Lithgow in Dumbledore's robes and Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall. It seems that even the most toxic fans have appreciated how powerful this list sounds.
The main trump card of the trailer is that they really follow the books. We will finally be shown what the old films missed for the sake of timing. The clip flashes scenes where Harry is brutally bullied in a regular Muggle school. Canonical childhood trauma! We have been waiting for this for so long to finally understand the entire psychological background of the Boy-Who-Lived.
The picture evokes orphans: a snowy Hogwarts that you immediately want to put on your screensaver, tough Quidditch, and a completely new version of the Sorting Hat.
But the biggest break with stereotypes is the soundtrack. Hans Zimmer sat at the console. Just realize this. Instead of John Williams' fairy-tale bells, we are most likely waiting for epic bass lines at Quidditch matches, from which the screen will vibrate, and anxiety in every note.
In short, December 2026. It's still an eternity to wait, but the Internet has already begun to parse these few minutes into pixels.
