No boring remixes for the sake of snobbery. They took 10 of Pivovarov's hits and completely reworked their instrumentals. Pops crashed into an aggressive beat at speed. The most interesting track is the new sound of “Barabana”. The track that tore up TikToks even before its official release and has not left the charts for two years. It would seem, where else can it be developed?
Pivovarov himself says that this is not just entertainment, but a conscious attempt to promote Ukrainian funk, which is already gaining momentum.
“I am grateful to Hensonn for the phonk interpretations of my songs. In my opinion, this is a successful experiment that combines modern pop music and dance beats with an atmospheric sound. This album can become a soundtrack to any activity, depending on the listener's vision,” says Artem.
And he's absolutely right. You can either clean your apartment at 2x speed or walk down the street with the face of the main villain from an anime to this album.
Hensonn even states that for him this collaboration is a transition into a new era of his own sound:
“Together with Artem Pyvovarov, we created something between emotional pop energy and modern funk and funk styles. This is not just a collaboration, it is an experiment that can set a new vector for Ukrainian music.”
It seems that Ukrainian showbiz has finally stopped playing by the rules and has turned into one endless but brilliant musical experiment.
