Adrenaline Rush: Survival Movies You'll Want to Watch Again

Seriously, nothing is more invigorating than watching someone else's absolute failure while you lie in safety, informs Ukr.Media.

So I decided to put together a personal top. These are the paintings that make your pulse race even on the fifth viewing.

“Above the Abyss” (2022)

Two friends climb an abandoned 600-meter television tower in the middle of some desert. A rusty ladder, the wind. And then — oops! — the old steps fly down. The girls get stuck at a dizzying height, and the only thing separating them from free fall is their own broken fingers.

“Milina” (2016)

A surfer escapes her troubles to a secret beach in Mexico. Sun, waves, aesthetics. But she swims too far and becomes the target of a great white shark. Bleeding, she jumps first onto a dead whale carcass, then onto a rock, then onto a tiny buoy. Around the tropics, but at night the wind chills her, and underwater, a hungry killing machine waits patiently. Time flies.

“Deep Dive” (2020)

Two adult sisters, professional divers, are going on a winter open-water dive off the rocky coast of Norway. Their relationship is strained, to say the least; life has long since taken them to different corners. The route is extreme, but they are experts, right? Suddenly, a rock collapse occurs on the surface of the cliff, huge rocks fly into the water, and one of them presses one of the sisters' legs firmly to the ocean floor. They are running out of oxygen. Now they must not only not die, but become one in order to get out.

“Night Flight” (2005)

Airport, flight delayed due to bad weather. Two strangers, a chance meeting, a very sweet flirtation, cocktails at a bar. Everything looks like the beginning of a rom-com. But flight N1019 does take off, and for Lisa, who is already deathly afraid of flying, real hell begins right in the next seat.

“Help” (2026)

Linda is a stuffy development employee who has everyone in stitches with her perfectionism. She's waiting for a promotion, but her old boss dies and his son, Major Bradley, takes the job. Of course, Linda's promotion goes to the trash. Then a corporate delegation flies to Bangkok, the plane crashes, and only two survive on a wild Thai island: boring Linda and Major Bradley. Linda, who has watched survival shows her whole life, decides that she's the boss here. But the jungle is not the Discovery Channel.

“From the Depths” (2024)

A plane flies from LA to Mexico and crashes into the Pacific Ocean. The plane goes to the bottom. A few passengers miraculously survive in the tail section, where an air pocket has formed. Oxygen is melting before our eyes, and sharks are already circling the shattered fuselage. Time is running out. Every decision could be fatal.

“No One Will Save You” (2023)

A young girl lives all alone in an old house. The locals hate her, she avoids them (you'll find out why later). One night she hears strange sounds. And she realizes that someone has broken into the house. Only this “someone” has arrived from another planet. Without communication, without the help of her neighbors, she will have to protect her home from something that defies logic.

This is the selection. Of course, there are also classics like “127 Hours”, “The Martian”, “Everest” or the same “The Legend of Hugh Glass” with DiCaprio and a bear. But everyone knows these films anyway. And I'm sharing the movie that made my heart stop. And which I will definitely turn on again.
