Once a woman asked a priest if she could believe in fortune-telling and horoscopes, Ukr.Media reports.
“You can't,” the confessor replied, “because it's a great sin.”
“How is that, Father?” the woman was surprised. “I recently read in my horoscope that it would be an unlucky day. And that's exactly what happened: I got cheated at the market, had trouble at work, and even had a fight with my girlfriend.”
“And you don't believe,” said the priest, “and it will have no power over you. After all, the life of a believer depends on God's providence, sincere prayer, and righteous deeds. You should rely on the Lord's mercy, and not pay attention to the fact that a black cat crossed the road.”
However, the woman did it her own way. She started buying books with fortune-telling, reading newspapers with horoscopes and prophecies. And from then on, everything in her life went upside down.
One day, I read in my horoscope that it was a good day to buy jewelry, and I bought some gold earrings at the market. Later, it turned out that the gold was fake.
Another time, she saw on the calendar that it was not a good day to get treatment. So she didn't go to the hospital — and became seriously ill.
Then she remembered the words of the confessor, but it was already too late. After all, the Lord allows prophecies to come true when a person weakens in faith or lives in complete unbelief, relying not on His mercy, but on the lines of the palm or coffee grounds.

First the new ones ↕ Bearded Pike 🤔 I have my own opinion 03/30/2026 19:35 I don't believe in horoscopes and prophecies, as well as in all sorts of magic numbers and similar nonsense – I consider it an uncultivated field for manipulating people. But I don't believe in clergymen either – because their business is also exclusively mercantile – to keep as many believers as possible in the field of their influence who regularly bring money to church. However, I believe in psychoanalysis as a science, and also in TARO, when they are a tool in the hands of a psychoanalyst. At the same time, I do not endow TARO with any magical properties – it is fiction 💯 1 + Reply
