James Barker was an integral part of the Love Island USA crew, and his passing has left the production team devastated. The accomplished executive producer, in his late 40s, tragically passed away due to an “unexpected medical emergency” while production for the show’s eighth season was underway in Fiji, as confirmed by ITV and Peacock.
“The profound grief from James’ unforeseen departure is felt not only by the entire Love Island USA production but across all of ITV and Peacock,” a statement from ITV America and Peacock conveyed, as reported by NBC News. “He was a cherished and highly valued member of our extended family, whose compassion, talent, and commitment left an enduring imprint on everyone who had the honor of knowing and collaborating with him. Our sincerest sympathies go out to James’ family, friends, and colleagues.”
