Prior to stepping into the Love Island USA compound, Beatriz Hatz had already achieved more than many individuals accomplish in a lifetime. The accomplished athlete representing Team USA competed on the global stage, participating in two Paralympic Games and securing a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Paralympics.
She is now bringing that same competitive drive to the eighth season of Love Island USA, where she is aiming to find a genuine connection while making history in the franchise as the show’s inaugural Paralympian contestant.

She Is Mexican-American
Beatriz was born and raised in Colorado, hailing from a family with diverse backgrounds. Her mother is of Mexican descent, while her father is of white heritage. She has expressed that her Mexican heritage is a significant aspect of her identity, and before entering the villa, she shared her desire to meet a partner who values her culture, particularly one who speaks Spanish.
She Is a Paralympic Bronze Medalist
Before her appearance on Love Island USA, Beatriz was competing for Team USA internationally. The two-time Paralympian earned a bronze medal in the women’s long jump T64 category at the 2024 Paris Paralympics, having previously represented the United States in the Tokyo Games.

She Was Born With Fibular Hemimelia
Beatriz was born without a fibula in her right leg due to a rare condition known as fibular hemimelia. She underwent an amputation below the knee at the age of 10 months and has since had numerous surgeries. Currently, she utilizes her platform to advocate for individuals with disabilities and young prosthetic users.
She Is 25 Years Old
Born on October 7, 2000, Beatriz is 25 years of age. The Colorado native participated in a variety of sports throughout her childhood, including softball, basketball, soccer, karate, and skiing, before ultimately dedicating herself to track and field. She now resides in San Diego, California.
She Is the First Paralympian in Love Island USA History
Upon entering the Season 8 villa, Beatriz made history for the franchise as the first Paralympian to be featured on Love Island USA. Her significant appearance has garnered praise from both fans and disability advocates, introducing a new dimension of representation to the popular dating show.
