Where Was Dutton Ranch Filmed?
Despite Dutton Ranch depicting Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler establishing a new existence in Texas, the series was captured in both Montana and Texas. The majority of the filming operations occurred in North Texas, utilizing sites such as Ferris, Weatherford, Fort Worth, Boyd, Cleburne, Mineral Wells, and Dallas. The fictional settlement of Rio Paloma was predominantly brought to life through scenes shot in Ferris, while the Saunders Ranch in Weatherford served as the stand-in for the Edwards Ranch.

The city of Ferris played a notably significant part in the production process, with local authorities welcoming the attention the show directed towards the locality. “We truly believed it would bestow some name recognition, some distinction upon the city,” stated Ferris City Manager Brooks Williams in comments to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “We are a community that has been quiet and modest, yet we are a community that is undeniably progressing and possesses much to offer.”
