The intrigue from Acorn TV’s newest crime drama is intensely captivating! With the acclaimed performances of Brooke Shields and Amalia Williamson, the buzz surrounding the series *You’re Killing Me* is just gaining momentum. As is typical for any show packed with high stakes, rivalry, and a dose of murder, the desire for a subsequent season is bound to increase. So, will there be a second installment of *You’re Killing Me*?
Hollywood Life brings you the most current information regarding the future of *You’re Killing Me*, details about its initial season, and an exclusive preview clip presented below.
What is the Premise of You’re Killing Me?
This Acorn TV offering centers on author Allie (Shields) and her unexpected partner, podcast host and aspiring writer, Andi (Williamson). Together, they find themselves entangled in a web of crime and mystery unfolding within a charming New England locale.
The comically fraught dynamic between Allie and Andi forms a core element of the narrative. Brooke herself shared insights with Hollywood Life during the show’s premiere event in New York City.
“Well, the clashing of perspectives is precisely what made it so engaging, as you have two distinct generations with differing viewpoints, yet they possess the capacity to learn from each other,” Shields explained. “She teases me, I tease her, and through that, the conversation flows, and it’s amusing, you understand? It’s humorous to not treat those differences with excessive seriousness but, in fact, to gain from the other person.”

For Williamson, the *Letterkenny* alumna remarked that her character and Shields’ character “are mutually dependent for success in every aspect of their lives,” despite their differences stemming from a generational gap.
“I believe she struggles significantly at first, largely due to their generational disparities,” Williamson confided exclusively to Hollywood Life. “Her mother departed when she was quite young, so initially, she finds Ali’s persona incredibly irritating. However, she eventually recognizes that Ali is precisely what Andi requires, both professionally and in her romantic endeavors, and perhaps even as a maternal figure.”
How Many Episodes Constitute Season 1 of You’re Killing Me?
The inaugural season of *You’re Killing Me* comprises six episodes.
Is There a Season 2 of You’re Killing Me?
Affirmative! Merely a few weeks following the debut of its first season, Acorn TV has greenlit *You’re Killing Me* for a second season.
Hollywood Life had the opportunity to converse with the showrunner and creator, Robin Bernheim, at the season 1 premiere. She expressed their “definite… hopes for a second season.”
“There are elements concerning how my generation perceives concepts like AI and how younger generations relate to [it],” Bernheim stated, discussing the potential for the series to extend beyond its initial run.
In an exclusive conversation with Hollywood Life after the season 1 premiere, Brooke elaborated on what she envisions for her character in a potential second season.
“I would be delighted to witness Allie heeding Andi’s counsel and embracing greater liberation,” the Princeton University alumna remarked. She added, “Not merely in a sexual context… but she doesn’t consistently grant herself [freedom]— a sentiment shared by many mothers I know, many women my age, who struggle to prioritize their own well-being, find joy, and accept imperfection.”
Regarding Amalia, she offered her perspective on Andi’s relationship with her family, particularly her mother who disappeared years prior.
“I trust she will also absorb wisdom from Allie and truly embrace the bond they share,” Amalia conveyed to Hollywood Life. “There is a maternal quality to their connection that Andi initially believed she didn’t require, but likely does. My sincere hope is that she continues to learn from Allie and evolves.”
