When Did Whitney Leavitt Appear on Dancing With the Stars?

Whitney participated on Dancing With the Stars in the 34th season. She was paired with the professional Mark Ballas, and they achieved a sixth-place finish.

During a March 2026 discussion with The Hollywood Reporter, Whitney deliberated on the acclaim she experienced while on the ABC show. While expressing her worries regarding the “portrayal” associated with SLOWM, Whitney conveyed her “surprise” at the considerable support she received from viewers.

“That portrayal instilled in me a sense of insecurity when moving to a different medium, as I felt I lacked a supportive community,” she acknowledged, before including, “Yet, I was pleasantly surprised, as I certainly did, and still do.”

Why Is Whitney Leavitt Departing from SLOMW?

Whitney had previously informed THR that she was “assessing” the duration of her involvement in SLOMW to dedicate herself to her burgeoning acting endeavors.

“I wouldn’t be where I am without [The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives]. However, it appears to be the opportune moment to stretch myself in different areas and fulfill these aspirations and passions that I’ve been striving for even prior to the program,” she clarified, before mentioning, “Well, I’m resolving it in real-time. We’re figuring it out in unison, yet it feels like that is the path it’s taking. But again, I wouldn’t be where I am without it, but it feels like it’s time to challenge myself in other ways and fulfill these dreams and passions that I’ve been trying to get even before the show.”

Affirming that she’s “always been a performer,” Whitney emphasized that SLOMW functioned as a launchpad for her career in the public eye.

“People are unaware that prior to this, I was still attending auditions,” she conveyed. “I relocated to California, I was enrolling in acting courses; Margie Haber, Groundlings, Lesly Kahn, I participated in everything. … I always envisioned myself acting.”

Ultimately, Whitney underscored that her reason for leaving the reality TV show stemmed from her ambition to continue “ascending” the “hierarchy” of the entertainment world.
