Well, autumn is almost here, and we're still getting ready for summer. Let's pretend we're getting ready not for summer, but… for a vacation in Europe! It's summer there even in October, so get ready to go.
What's on our agenda today, the final day of preparation? We're continuing our diet, swimming, and tanning. Try to make exercise a habit, because, as doctors themselves say, “Movement may take the place of medicine, but no medicine can take the place of movement.” You've practically reached your peak—your figure has been toned, your face is touched with a golden tan. Yesterday you had a pedicure, manicure, and waxing. Just a reminder, waxing is typically done on your legs, underarms, and bikini area.
Here's a quick outline of your steps (in case you haven't read my four previous guide articles):
Day #1 :
– Bathhouse.
– Diet.
Day #2 :
– Solarium.
– Swimming.
– Going for a massage.
Day #3 :
– Haircut.
– Painting.
– Hair treatment.
Day #4 :
– Manicure.
– Pedicure.
– Epilation.
It's time to put the finishing touches on. We've saved the most enjoyable treatments for last:
1. Visit a cosmetologist
Facial cleansing . I won't even argue with you – it's an absolutely essential procedure. It's performed by your esthetician using gentle peels, pore-opening treatments, and special masks tailored to your skin type. You don't have to do anything; you lie down on a soft table, listen to relaxing music, and… fall asleep. You wake up beautiful. And if your esthetician uses a table with a massage effect, the pleasure you get from the procedure is truly incredible.
A facial cleansing first removes the top, dead skin layer, allowing oxygen to reach the cells. Skin appears rested, more even and smooth. A stimulating peeling stimulates renewal. Next, the specialist will remove any blackheads, perform a massage, apply a soothing or firming (moisturizing, nourishing) mask, and conclude the session.
The result: your skin is wrinkle-free and looks porcelain and well-groomed. Now we move on to a more subtle detail of your face: your eyebrows.
Eyebrow (and eyelash) shaping. I don't think I'm saying anything new by saying that eyebrows and eyelashes need to be tinted occasionally. Go to a good salon with a professional stylist who will select the right shade for you so you don't look like a Shamakhan queen with thick, black brows a centimeter wide. Blondes will look great with a cool graphite shade for eyebrows and eyelashes. Brunettes can embrace dark tones with blue undertones. Those with light brown hair can opt for a warm chocolate brow color. There are countless options, but the key is to know when to use them.
Besides tinting, eyebrows need to be shaped , or, simply put, plucked. You can, of course, try to give your eyebrows the perfect shape, curve, and thickness yourself, armed with tweezers, sneezing and crying constantly (that's exactly what happens to me), but let's remember the words of our favorite character in the film “Office Romance,” Lyudmila Prokofyevna Kalugina, when her secretary, Verochka, was teaching her how to pluck her eyebrows:
– This has to be done under anesthesia!
Plucking your eyebrows is truly not the most pleasant task in the world, so leave it to the professionals – at least they'll do it quickly. And maintaining your eyebrow shape is much easier than shaping them yourself from scratch.
While I'm on the topic, I can't help but mention permanent makeup—an option for you if nature hasn't given you wide, thick, Brezhnev-style eyebrows. This procedure is available in salons, and you can “do” your lips, eyebrows, and even eyes. While permanent makeup isn't necessary, it can save you a significant amount of time and make getting ready for work in the morning easier.
Also (if you have money left over after visiting beauty salons) it is important…
2. Visit a dentist
At the very least, you can check for any problems that might arise during the most enjoyable moments of summer—when you're on an island or horseback riding far from civilization. Or on vacation, where a single dental procedure would cost you the price of a flight home. At the very most, you can get your teeth cleaned and polished at the dentist's office so you can smile broadly all summer long, enjoying the sun and yourself.
And that's enough! We may not have managed to do everything, but summer is never perfect – rain or heat, mosquitoes or wasps, dust or wind. And this summer – I hope it won't be your last. Nature has no bad weather, just as there are no unattractive women, only unkempt ones. Pamper and love yourself, and then you'll be a queen not only in summer, but at other times of the year as well.
