Jennifer Lawrence recently demonstrated once again how a properly styled trend can work in urban fashion. The actress turned to the current fashion code – the Canadian tuxedo. For a morning walk in New York with her husband Cooke Maroney, Lawrence chose a casual all-denim look – more on that later.

On a sunny April day, Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence strolled through the city in a voluminous button-down shirt and wide-leg jeans. The key to the expressiveness of the image — as with any successful stylistic decision — was the details. The star complemented the denim duo with round glasses in a thin metal frame and a Lindy bag by Hermès in an espresso shade. To diversify the restrained palette, she added a colorful accent — turquoise ballet flats from Khaite, which remind us of this season's relevant colored shoes and blue ballet flats.

Lawrence isn't the only one who's been rocking double denim with statement accessories, either. Back in 2001, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake both rocked the now-iconic denim look at the American Music Awards, complete with diamonds and chains. Much later, at the 2025 Grammy Awards, Kendrick Lamar also opted for denim, accessorizing his look with a bright baseball cap and a chunky diamond chain.
And although Jennifer Lawrence's interpretation is much more restrained than the glamorous looks of her star colleagues, this stylistic technique works in any context. It is accessories that transform the simplest looks, giving them completeness and character.
