Public talk “What do people read in Vogue Ukraine and Google Ukraine?”

We will talk about this at the “Book Country” during a special conversation about books, inspiration and reading habits of people who shape the cultural and professional agenda. The conversation will be attended by the director of Google Ukraine Tetyana Lukyniuk and the editor of the culture department of Vogue Ukraine Daria Slobodianyk, and the conversation will be moderated by the head of the communications department of the publishing house “Fabula” Natalia Melnyk

Presentation of the book “How to Watch It: Ukrainian Cinema of Independence” by Yuriy Samusenko – a guide to Ukrainian cinema with an analysis of 34 films, lists of recommendations and exclusive testimonies of directors, producers, actors and crew members who create the Ukrainian film industry. During the presentation, the author of the book and director Anna Buryachkova, known for the film “Forever, Forever”, will talk about how literature is transformed into cinema.
Lecture “Cartier. The Untold Story of the Family Behind the Jewelry Empire”

This spring, Fabula Publishing House published a fascinating book about the history of the Cartier family, which founded one of the most famous jewelry empires in the world. Historian Igor Koshil will guide listeners through the most interesting corners of the history of the jewelry dynasty, spanning four generations – from the French Revolution to the 1970s.

During the festival, you can visit readings performed by Ukrainian musicians, actors and directors. This is the project “Family Readings” by Ukrainian singer Anna Zavalska. So, on April 23, singer and composer, laureate of the Shevchenko Prize Jamala will read the famous fairy tale “Kissu: The Girl, the Lights and the Prince”. During the presentation, Jamala will talk about the power of stories that help children grow kinder and more inquisitive, as well as about what fairy tales she reads to her sons.
Presentation “Are you exaggerating, or what patriarchy has done to us”

The presentation of the book “Pocket Guide to Patriarchy” by British journalist Maya Oppenheim will take place at the “Book Country”. Oppenheim is an experienced journalist specializing in human rights, author of Vice, iD Magazine, Dazed. In her book, awarded with an award by the international human rights organization Amnesty International, she explores the issues of inequality and discrimination. Iryna Slavinska, journalist, producer of “Radio Culture” and author of the book “The Word with the Letter “F”” and Oksana Pavlenko, co-founder of Divoche Media, will talk about patriarchy, discrimination, and modern society.
