“Excuse me, do you have anything more important to do? The ugly skirt convention you have to go to?” That's the sarcastic line Emily Blunt utters as Emily Charlton in The Devil Wears Prada, a character who would rather faint than wear something “horrible.” The actress's lavish look for the New York premiere of the sequel The Devil Wears Prada 2 perfectly underscores her character's love of high fashion.

Emily Blunt wore a Schiaparelli dress from the Spring/Summer 2026 couture collection to the red carpet for The Devil Wears Prada 2. The sculptural ensemble featured a fitted raffia top and a voluminous, tiered skirt. “My stylist Jessica Pasteur sent me a photo of the dress right after the show and I knew I had to wear it to the premiere,” Blunt says. “I can't think of a more appropriate occasion for this dress.”

Schiaparelli creative director Daniel Roseberry has a close relationship with Emily Blunt, who designed the dress she wore to the 2024 Academy Awards when she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her work in Oppenheimer. “I just love everything Daniel does,” says Blunt. “He’s such a bold artist. I’m in awe of his work. To wear one of his dresses is a real honor.”

To complete the look, Blunt chose exquisite jewelry from the Mikimoto Les Pétales Place Vendôme Rosés collection. A woman's best friend – diamonds? Pearls, rather: her spectacular necklace consisted of 156 cultured Akoya pearls and was complemented by 18-karat rose gold and diamond petals weighing a total of 4.86 carats. “Jessica and I had the same reaction the moment we saw this choker,” says Blunt. “It complemented the Schiaparelli dress so naturally and elegantly, with the pearls and diamond petals.”

The star also wore pearl bracelets from the brand, with a total of 243 cultured Akoya pearls on her wrist alone. “I've always been drawn to pearls, there's something truly timeless about them,” says Blunt. “I've long admired Mikimoto for their exceptional heritage. As a creator of cultured pearls, the brand demonstrates the highest level of craftsmanship in every piece.”

Overall, Emily Blunt's theatrical and dramatic look tonight was perfect for a glamorous film like The Devil Wears Prada 2. It's easy to imagine that this is exactly the kind of ensemble her character would happily wear in the film, say, to the Met Gala or Paris Fashion Week, so it's a perfect example of method dressing. Emily would definitely approve.
