Sherrone Moore, the erstwhile head football coach at the University of Michigan, was dismissed from his position in December 2025 following an internal inquiry that revealed “convincing evidence” of an improper liaison with a member of the staff. The matter has endured in the news cycle into 2026 after judicial developments and fresh dialogues that have cast further light on his private affairs, notably his marital relationship.
“U-M head football coach Sherrone Moore has been released, with cause, immediately,” declared Warde Manuel, Michigan’s athletic director, in December 2025. “Subsequent to a University probe, compelling evidence emerged indicating Coach Moore was involved in an unsuitable bond with a staff associate. Such behavior plainly contravenes University regulations, and U-M enforces a strict zero-tolerance approach towards such conduct.”
In a recent televised interview, the previous staffer, Paige Shiver, offered novel specifics regarding their connection, mentioning her pregnancy and initial plans to carry the child to term, which were later abandoned upon medical counsel due to significant health hazards.

Sherrone’s spouse is Kelli Moore. According to her private X account, Kelli defines herself as a “Jesus follower, Coach Moore’s wife, mother, and 🏳️🌈 [LGBTQ+] advocate.” The pair became engaged in 2014 and tied the knot in July 2015.
Throughout their time together, Sherrone has expressed affectionate sentiments regarding his wife. While commemorating their third year as a married couple, he lavished praise upon his “life companion and closest confidante” in an Instagram update from July 2018.

Upon Sherrone’s acceptance of the football coach position at the University of Michigan in 2024, both he and Kelli were wholeheartedly welcomed by the team.
