They found that seven out of ten women aged 18-40 regularly engage in unprotected sex.
Scientists surveyed 2,000 women and found that the average woman had unprotected sex 11 times with four different partners. Dr. Tony Steele, who led the study, emphasized: “It's not uncommon for a woman to meet a stranger while relaxing on the weekend or on vacation and have sex with him. This increases the risk of contracting sexually transmitted infections several times over.”
Researchers found that seemingly experienced women over 30 were actually embarrassed to discuss contraception with a new partner. This explains why women in their 30s and 40s are more likely to experience sexually transmitted diseases.
It turned out that one in ten women would likely have unprotected sex on the weekend. Many of these women experienced unwanted pregnancies as a result, with women over 40 experiencing this twice as often as those aged 18-29.
