The demise of Patrick Muldoon triggered deep sorrow among his former colleagues, acquaintances, relatives, and admirers. The esteemed Melrose Place personality, aged 57, passed away because of a cardiac arrest at his residence in Beverly Hills, California, on April 19, 2026. He was in the company of his partner, Miriam Rothbart, who promptly contacted emergency services; however, they were unsuccessful in resuscitating the thespian. As the world processed the stunning announcement, a multitude of Patrick’s past associates offered commemorations in his honor, notably his previous love interest and longtime confidante, Denise Richards. The former duo, who had a sporadic romance during the late 1990s, shared screen time in Starship Troopers, and subsequently in their 2026 motion picture, Dirty Hands.

“It’s incredibly challenging for me to express this in words,” Denise started an emotional video on Instagram. “My heart is completely shattered & I am devastated by your absence. You held the place of my dearest companion & my kin. Our paths crossed in our initial acting course; I was a novice at 19, without any prior experience, while you, at 21, were enrolled at USC, concurrently playing a recurring role in Who’s the Boss. And now, after 36 years, you have been part of my entire adult life & I cannot fathom it without you.”
She proceeded by stating that their “bond of friendship, affection, encouragement, esteem & devotion we experienced was absolute and unmatched.”
“Your presence illuminated every area you entered,” Denise added. “You possessed a larger-than-life character, and everyone felt magnetized to you. Exceptionally gifted & yet underrated as an actor. And extraordinarily modest. All that you undertook was compelling. From your laughter, your empathy, your humor, your fortitude, your commitment, your fervor, to your enthusiasm for life. We have been each other’s strength. The recollections we have forged together are boundless. You consistently stood by me and shielded me more fiercely than anyone else. I am at a loss as to how I will navigate without you here. You have been my voice of reason & foundation of resilience. Especially throughout this recent period filled with anguish & sorrow. And now, I yearn for you more intensely than ever, to confront this agony and sadness stemming from your departure. My Sweetheart, we shared those conversations.. We envisioned ourselves living indefinitely, or at least reaching our 90s.”
Denise concluded her message with, “Sweetheart, I will be watchful for those indications. I desperately need reassurance that you remain present with me. My affection for you is boundless, and I deeply miss you, sweetheart.”

In her own communication, Tori Spelling indicated that formulating the words took her “several days,” remarking that she “was hesitant to write since it would then register as factual. And, this should not be a reality.”
“@thepatrickmuldoon and I initially met through an arranged meeting. Which thankfully was not a totally unknown scenario as we were both acting in a tv program,” Tori expressed. “I, like the majority of girls in the world, had strong feelings for his character Austin in Days of Our Lives. I’m unsure if I ever let him in on that. What I encountered and consequently grew to cherish was not merely outward charm, but the loveliest heart. He was incomparable and truly singular. The kindest, most considerate individual with the most unconventional and hilarious sense of humour. We simply understood each other! Laughed often! I shared laughter both alongside him and at his expense, and he relished it. Endowed with numerous abilities. Immersed in everything he pursued. And gifted with the capability to brighten others’ days & showered absolute happiness on all who had the privilege to exist within his influence. A genuine treasure.”
Mentioning their “shared affection for the Broncos, guitars, lighthearted fun, games of tag, and Grease!” Tori further added that Patrick constituted “a significant element of [her] early twenties.”
“We continued to be great friends! Still sharing laughs & showing constant care,” she proceeded. “Years down the line, I esteemed him as such a dependable comrade/promoter during my separation. He would call to see how I was doing and send me the most terrible jokes to bring a smile to my face. He delighted in my eye-rolling responses. Now, I long for those silly jokes. I last saw him last summer. And finally, I was introduced to his soulmate @miriamrothbart . He guessed that we would click, & I instantly understood why! She provided the perfect balance for him. He thrived in that moment. Completely in his zone. Having discovered true love, acting & creating became his all-consuming passions, as he would put it. Surpassing all expectations! I don’t really subscribe to regrets, but I lament not arranging that dinner involving him & Miriam afterwards. Life moves by rapidly.”
