The third season of one of HBO's most popular shows, “Euphoria,” premieres on April 12. In the new episodes, we'll see Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, and Sidney Swinn reprising their favorite characters — but we'll have to say goodbye to some of them.
Gia Bennett (Storm Raid)
Among those viewers will miss in the new season is Roo's (Zendaya) vulnerable younger sister Gia Bennett, played by young actress Storm Reed. “I love Gia. It was incredibly important for me to live her story,” Storm Reed told Variety. However, the actress admitted that her connection with Zendaya remained unchanged: “She's my sister before 'Euphoria' and after. And she always will be.”
Reed is currently working on a new project, Get Lite, a dance film for Paramount set in Harlem. It will be the directorial debut of Teyana Taylor, star of One Battle After Another.

Catherine Hernandez (Barbie Ferreira)
Barbie Ferreira's confident and charismatic Kat Hernandez is one of the most striking characters on Euphoria. Ferreira announced in 2022 that Kat would not be returning for season three.
The actress explained: it was a joint decision – both her and the creative team. According to her, Kat's story simply exhausted itself. “I adore Kat. She means a lot to me. I've invested myself in her for years… but sometimes you shouldn't spoil something that's already good.” However, rumors spread among fans of the series about a conflict between Ferreira and showrunner Sam Levinson. So, People magazine even put forward a version that the reduction of Kat's storyline in the second season is a signal of problems behind the scenes.
“I was very young, and it wasn't easy,” the actress said. “There was a lot of talk around that wasn't true. But I'm the kind of person who just lets things happen. It's a popular show… and I've never left the set on my own initiative.”
Today, Ferreira has a new milestone: in 2025, she made her Broadway debut.
Ethan Daly (Austin Abrams)
Along with Barbie Ferreira, actor Austin Abrams, who played Ethan Lewis, Kat Hernandez's boyfriend, also said goodbye to “Euphoria.” Well, it's obvious that without Kat, his character's story loses relevance. It is known that soon the 29-year-old actor will appear in the sequel to the thriller “Resident Evil”, where he will play the main role.
Fezko (Angus Cloud)
In 2023, Hollywood was rocked by tragic news: at the age of 25, actor Angus Cloud, who played the role of drug dealer Fesko, died of an accidental overdose. Fesko's fate was left open at the end of the second season, and now the third season must delicately explain what happened to the beloved character.
Algie Smith (Christopher MacKay)
In the middle of the second season, the storyline of football player Algie Smith, played by Christopher McKay, ended. Recall that Algie was Cassie's schoolboy, a kind of safe haven for the girl. In the second season, the guy tried to win Cassie back, but the heroine Sydney Swinney started an affair with Nate Jacobs. Well, there is no place for him in the third season either, because the series jumps years ahead, leaving his story of heartbreak behind.
