Dominic McLaughlin might be a new face in Hollywood, but he’s already taking on one of the most legendary roles ever: Harry Potter. The young actor from Scotland has been officially chosen to portray the Boy Who Lived in HBO’s forthcoming Harry Potter reimagining, planned to adapt J.K. Rowling’s cherished books over a ten-year period. He will be accompanied by Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.
Executive Producer Francesca Gardiner and director/executive producer Mark Mylod verified the casting through a declaration, stating, “Following an extensive search overseen by casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann, we are pleased to share that we have discovered our Harry, Hermione, and Ron.” They also mentioned that “thousands upon thousands of children” auditioned for the parts.
