Miley Cyrus has been a major figure in music throughout the 2010s and 2020s. Gaining popularity on the Disney Channel through Hannah Montana, she transitioned into a worldwide phenomenon. Throughout the 2010s, Miley’s individual musical journey propelled her into being a verifiable pop icon thanks to popular songs such as “We Can’t Stop” and “Wrecking Ball.” Even nearly two decades into her career, she is still crafting chart-topping hits.
In addition to her music career, Miley has frequently grabbed headlines regarding her romantic pursuits. She has been involved with various famous individuals, musicians, and others across the years. Dylan Sprouse
Miley verified during her Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special that she and Dylan Sprouse were an item during their time on the Disney Channel. While it is unclear the precise timeline for when the former young performers were dating, Miley mentioned that Dylan’s father would occasionally treat them to sushi.
Nick Jonas

One of Miley’s earlier relationships was with the fellow teen idol Nick Jonas. The initial connections to her fellow Disney Channel personality occurred in 2006, a period where both were prominently displayed on the children’s television network. Nick’s musical group, the Jonas Brothers, served as the opening act for Miley on her 2007-08 Best of Both Worlds tour, and even made an appearance in the concert movie created from the series of performances. The two youthful celebrities ultimately parted ways in 2007; however, it’s evident that they maintain a favorable rapport now.
At a Miley concert in 2022, one admirer displayed a sign that contained some mature remarks regarding Nick. The “Flowers” vocalist read the sign, but was quick to mention she wasn’t saying it, only reciting what was on the sign. Over a decade after their split, Miley actually made a cameo at one of the JoBros’ Broadway shows to perform their track “Before The Storm” in March 2023.
Justin Gaston

Following the separation from Nick, Miley was briefly associated with model and composer Justin Gaston in 2008. At the time, Justin was a contestant on the reality television program Nashville Star. She discussed their connection during a 2008 visit on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show, as reported by MTV News. “He’s a genuinely wonderful Christian person. He’s been through things, as have I, and everyone experiences those things. I think it’s truly amazing that we have that in common — that we can discuss it and understand each other. … He understands,” she stated. This romance came to an end relatively quickly. The pair would break things off in June 2009, according to People.
Liam Hemsworth

After her relationship with Justin, Miley encountered the individual with whom she would share one of her most enduring romances: Liam Hemsworth. There was an instant connection between the two after they collaborated on the 2009 film The Last Song. Working together as co-stars in the movie, they initiated a romantic relationship. The pair made their debut as a couple on the red carpet at the film’s premiere, and they declared their engagement in January 2012, after numerous separations and reconciliations.
In spite of their initial engagement, the pair eventually separated once again, and they both had a series of relationships with different individuals. After a number of years apart, the couple was observed spending time together at a music festival in 2016, and the subsequent year, Miley launched her acclaimed song “Malibu,” which drew inspiration from The Hunger Games star. By December 2018, the pair officially tied the knot, six years after Liam initially proposed.
Sadly, the couple’s marriage proved to be extremely short-lived. The couple were in attendance together at the 2019 Met Gala, but the two disclosed that they had broken up by August of that year. After the split, Miley talked about undergoing a divorce in the public eye on The Joe Rogan Experience in July 2020. ” What really stunk about it wasn’t that me and someone I had affection for came to the realization that we no longer loved each other the way we once did. That’s acceptable; I can come to terms with that,” she stated. Following the breakup, Miley launched her successful record Endless Summer Vacation in 2023. Despite the speculation from fans that some of her songs, such as “Flowers” and “Jaded,” were inspired by her connection with Liam, she has denied that these tracks are about her ex.
Mike Will Made It

Amid one of her earlier splits with Liam, Miley was at one point linked to producer Mike Will Made It, who oversaw the creation of a selection of tracks from her album Bangerz, and she was featured on his song “23.” Even though the two worked closely together and sparked speculation, sources close to them informed E! News that they were “just friends.”
Patrick Schwarzenegger

Prior to reigniting her romance with Liam, Miley also was together with Patrick Schwarzenegger for a period of five months between 2014 and 2015. During this time, the “Adore You” performer shared pictures of herself and Patrick inside a photobooth together, according to Us Weekly. Years after the fact, Patrick mentioned that he went to Easter brunch following consuming some cannabis in an Instagram post, and the timing of this aligns with their relationship. He also stated that he hadn’t partaken since then. Following their breakup, Miley reconnected with Liam.
Cody Simpson

One of Miley’s initial boyfriends after splitting up with Liam was Australian singer-songwriter Cody Simpson in 2019. She was spotted kissing the Surfers Paradise singer in October of that year, and the pair stayed together for the majority of 2020, frequently praising each other on social media and in interviews. The couple also were never afraid of displaying some public displays of affection.
As passionate as their relationship appeared, Cody and Miley separated in August 2020. The singer-turned-athlete indicated that too many changes in life contributed to why they parted ways in an April 2022 interview on the Kyle And Jackie O Show. “I realized that I’d have to move back to Australia to do it properly and professionally, and she was beginning her new record [Plastic Hearts] and was scheduled to go on tour. It was a fork in the road scenario, in reality,” he explained. “We had a brilliant year together and all that. We shared a living space during all the COVID lockdown stuff.”
Maxx Morando

Following her split with Cody, Miley has been connected to yet another musician: Maxx Morando, the drummer for Liily. Maxx even had the opportunity to participate in Miley’s 2022 New Year’s Eve special. The “Can’t Be Tamed” vocalist disclosed that the two initially met on a blind date in a May 2023 discussion with British Vogue. “It was a surprise for me, but not entirely for him. My thought process was, ‘The worst possibility is that I leave,’” she joked.
Miley and Maxx validated their engagement in December 2025, subsequent to dating for four years.
